In the 90's it was those politicians who wanted to ban weapons and ammo types that weren't used in crime. A bill the NRA co authored that catered to old fudds and racist grandpa's .

Its the jewelry store tactic. Constant going out of business. Hopefully you don't end up on their mailing list. With what they waste on mailers and spam bots could probably finance gun safes or storage locks for everyone. The NRA only cares about the NRA. They'll work against the only civil liberty they're supposed to care about if it gets them those sweet scared grandpa dollars.
