Well, Freikorps were just demobilized units of the german army, weren't they? Entire battalions who still had their weapons, ammo, and vehicles. Battle hardened, half-starved, and frustrated because their commanders told them that the communists were the reason all their sacrifices in the war now come to nothing. I don't think that historical situation can be replicated unless the entire US military is politicized and co-opted, in which case we're going to lose a fight no matter what.

Yea... Freikorps were a bit different. They were demobilized World War 1 vets used/hired by conservatives during the chaos of 1919, most notably retaking Munich from the Bavarian Soviet. The members of the Freikorps were radicalized later on. Rohm being the most notably Freikorp commander to go Nazi. Proud Boys are just lovely Brownshirts - idiot thugs who cause chaos. E: American Freikorps would be full units of the American army who haven't been paid in months who get cash influx from the Mercer family and tasked to retake Portland from the Antifas Soviet in 2020.
