2 other things I noticed about that car:
- there are some heat shields (?) strapped on top of the mufflers that can't be doing jack poo poo
- the battery is stuffed back where the motor is, as if there wasn't enough weight over the rear wheels or something

I really wanna see pics of the rear transaxle situation

Well they needed the room up front for a big fuel cell, it's obvs built for long highway drives. And you don't want the battery in the cabin, that could get dangerous

It'd be a bog standard TH425 out of a Toronado/Eldorado. They already came mated to the Caddy mills, it's just a matter of getting it in the right position for the regular ordinary cardan joint halfshafts to work right.

Me too, mostly for the axle situation. The transaxle itself is a pretty cool solution considering the era it came from. Take an auto trans, cut the bellhousing off and turn it 180*, stick it to the side and run a chain drive to the trans, stick a diff up the trans' rear end, voila.

Probably, but I was hoping they did something weird/insane like a Getrag or a WRX trans with the tailshaft lopped off

I think it would be even cooler if they had made it front wheel drive.

The ... vehicle is one thing, but gently caress, at least learn to do words good. I should start a proofreading service for Craigslist/eBay sellers, charge like .1% of the selling price to clean up their copy, payable when it sells.

Or maybe just make appoinments to test-drive the car being sold and beat the seller over the head with my AP Stylebook.

(I worked at a newspaper for ten years and not even as an editor, I was a photographer, and I want to beat that seller to a pulp with my Stylebook. I play fast and loose with grammar and spelling on the internet, but that ad crosses a line, y'dig?)

I don't know if that is a good idea, it tends to be an easy indication to pass over the seller and their wares.

Although a professionally composed photo of an El Amphetamino needing "nothing" but an entire driveline would be hilarious.

Also, this. I used to occasionally send emails to the by line about really staggering errors, but I've given up at this point. It's something that a very small minority finds pretty off-putting, and the vast majority of people think that small minority is a coastal elite or something.

You should see it before the editors get at it. We shared a printer, so occasionally I'd go to get my proofs to give to the copy desk, and see the proof copy. If I hadn't seen them type it, I'd've sworn some of the reporters I worked with just banged their faces against the keyboard.
