It's worse than making people feel bad about race, it reinforces racism by the idea that people's phenotype is meaningful. For racists it marks a subhuman and for liberals it marks someone to fetishize and use as an excuse for all your misdeeds

The application of capital to identity in a social and conversational environment to calculate the market strength of ideas. It's not racist until the market thinks it's racist, then it's a negative value to whatever points were being made regarding the identity itself, or by a member of said identity. The opinions of the market are valued in relation to how much capital each opinion has In the end, the person who is most 'correct' has the most social capital they can exercise

identity politics is neutral. How it’s used is what makes it good or bad. a socialist using idpol (which includes class) focused on intersectionality and how to fix things. A Democrat would remove class from idpol and focus only on race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.. If you happen to criticize or not support a women or a minority, you get labeled a bigot. the GOP uses idpol to gently caress over people of all races and working class.

one point i want to make w/r/t this thread's constant argument about "identity politics" (although i hate the use of the term since it is both imprecise and loaded with the right's preconceptions) is that the so-called "identity" that democrats and (for lack of a better term) liberals are championing/offering isnt the nonwhite, queer, etc "identity" but moreso the idea of a "woke" and sympathetic white person. the perspective is still firmly rooted in white supremacy. this is intimately tied up with the on-the-ground reality that the dems themselves are all rich white men who think they are enlightened
