Not sure about frags, but I equipped the tomahawk. You can throw it and pick it up as always, but if you throw it and get killed before picking it up, you will not get a new one when you respawn and you have to wait for it to recharge like a power.

Yeah I think that was the main issue. When I played with Javes or any non West coast dudes I could get some kills going. It sucks though, I don’t think that was a problem when I played IW

What’s your ping during those games? I’ve had some questionable matches but I don’t feel I’ve had a game anywhere near as a BLOPS3 match.

Scorestreaks
- We’ve made a big pass at tuning the effectiveness of Scorestreaks that are underperforming. Movement
- As promised, we’ve also made some modifications to locomotion, namely to reduce the amount of bunny hopping + sliding combo moves. We realize how important locomotion is to the feel of the game, so this is always a delicate balancing act and we’re taking it slow, starting with: reducing the global jump height by 5 units; slowing down very slightly the acceleration on sliding; and jumping multiple times in a row will now scale down jump height with each subsequent jump.

Maps/Modes
- A pass at performance optimizations has been made across all maps in the Beta for improved framerate.
- Made a pass at global spawn improvements in various maps and modes.
Updated Hardpoint locations and rotation on Seaside.

Specialist Weaponry/Equipment
- We’ve made some tuning adjustments including reducing overall effectiveness of the K9 Unit while fixing some of its more *ahem* egregious pathing issues.

Armor
- Because we know this is a hot topic, we’re going to address it separately with a dedicated thread. We did say that we wanted to leave this alone until more content is unlocked, and we’ve had more time to crunch the data from all of the content in the game. For now, we are making some early tweaks which we’ll discuss in a later post.

Just because Week 1 is coming to a close doesn’t mean we’re shutting things down. . . we’ll be back with a second week of Beta action starting this Friday (PS4/XB1/PC), which will feature a few new items that you’ll want to jump in to see. We probably shouldn't reference the new map that you saw in the beta trailer, secret new mode that has been kept under tight wraps, new XP events, and/or new level caps that you’ll see next week, so we definitely won’t do that.

Also I don’t think they mentioned or addressed anything related to network or connections so if you’re having a bad time so far...

Anyways, my weekend 1 opinion is that the game is good. It will absolutely need to hit that 60fps by launch but the rest of the tweaks and balance tuning I could go either way. I haven’t been too bothered by armor and I’m not entirely sure getting rid of it is the right call. It would just move everyone using to stim shot and I feel that is worse overall than surviving one extra bullet on your first encounter. Weapons seem mostly fun and good, consolidated playlists are great, 5v5 is ok but also having a 6v6 playlist too is poo poo because you fuckers are incapable of making 2nd group and rather idle in one big party. Control is a real good mode and I love it but we still play it fast and loose and other coordinated groups tend to beat us and then Macy’s and Jones get real mad about it for some reason. I loving love sweat lobbies since it’s the best way to get better at this poo poo.

We still know nothing about loot which is funny because the IW beta at least wasn’t afraid to show how variants and salvage work back in the beta. With this one we have everything related to loot boxes stripped out.

Correct. And the same “app” will be updated for Blackout in September so don’t delete it after next weekend. Beta cap will be 40 to get the unlock token (which I will immediately use on Dead Silence which, once again, is the best perk).

I miss wall running and boost jumping but not as much as I thought I would and Ruin's hook is a nice compromise. The TTK feels good. Control is fun but I die way too much in it.

Good game so far but the stupid season pass bullshit and lack of a campaign are still kinda ugly. Blackout is gonna need to be real good.

I think the real problem is that Lightweight is the only Perk 2 worth taking until you get Dexterity.

That being said, the ability to run away before stabbing yourself in the chest to heal will save you more often than you think.

Game is decent. The best things about BO4 are the core gunplay, and movement. Elimination of random recoil, and headshots mattering even without High Cal are both very good. The movement feels very crisp, and aggressive gameplay is encouraged.

While it's not a glaring red flag like the ones in IW and WW2's betas, I'm feeling iffy about map design for long-term gameplay. There's so many tight corridors in these maps, and not enough opportunities for rifles and LMGs to shine. That, plus the SMGs being allowed to take full advantage of the movement while ARs and LMGs are stuck in the mud, are what I'd say are the main reasons for SMG dominance right now. In BO3, I did run the Man-of-War as an AR/LMG hybrid without Quickdraw and Stock, but in BO4 any rifle or LMG without Stock might as well not exist to me.

The design and focus around competitive play, e.g. specialists, maps, pathetic streaks, is evident. TDM feels like an afterthought. Maybe Treyarch is leaving Blackout/Battle Royale for the casual crowd, and the focused competitive experience is traditional MP.

Or just go all in on more zombies poo poo and have it be TDM with continuous zombies spawning around the map.

I wouldn't be surprised if TTK in BO4 was similar to say, TTK against a player with Painkiller in MW2
