Krankenstyle posted:that will result in a significantly worse deal than they have now. The EU would be idiotic* to let them renegotiate favorably after a hard brexit. they might be able to secure relatively similar deal to what they had before, with some minor concessions to the EU for appearances' sake. having a prosperous country leave the EU only to face calamity and desperately plead their way back in is a pretty decent PR win for the euroists, no?

It would actually do the opposite: why not threaten to leave, try to negotiate better deals, and if it fails, just run back to the EU and act like it never happened.

I still can't believe the pigfucker made the decision to have that referendum and leave the EU, but on top of that people let him resign and disappear to his boudoir filled with lubed ham never to be seen again. like strap that fucker to the front of the ship, if the empire's going down he should not be allowed to escape and forced to attend every single miserable meeting both in the UK and EU about brexit

The fact that they had so many spoiled perks like not having to use the Euro, and still ended up the ones to throw a tantrum and leave will never stop dazzling me.

This is mainly due to how the country operated since the 80s, which was full-on exploiting those sweet EU downsideless perks and pumping that finance sector sky high while privatising everything and not giving a single solitary thought to if the status quo changed after that. A country that retains its national industry and isnt so absolutely reliant on its EU membership can weather an EU exit, but it would need political will, organization, major (Actual, not Austrian school bullshit) economic know-how and some incredibly slick statesmanship so it wont turn into a poo poo show that ruins the country for years. Guess what Britain currently has (its none of those 4)

all those immigrants are more likely to have family / friends outside the country they can flee to. and then they can campaign for tougher immigration laws to keep the drat british refugees from coming in

But in lands like the UK and Australia, well...

Berlin, OP. Although rents are rising very strongly, it's still much much cheaper to live than London, for instance. Also it's literally the best city in the world We live in the middle of Berlin-Kreuzberg and pay €550 a month for our 60m2 flat lmao
