Make your own raisins! They will blow your mind. Blanch seedless raisins before dropping them in an ice bath. Dehydrate. Seems silly, but so worth it.

You can use those paper-y furnace filter things bungie corded to a box fan laid on its side too. Google 'Alton Brown Dehydrator', or use your oven with the door cracked open to the first detente for a really long time but that can be wasteful. I've used it to make "sun dried" tomatoes in olive oil and herbs tho and that was real good.

Your jerky marinade is solid. Ever used Dale's steak seasoning? 1 cup Dale's, 2 cups of water, 3+ tbps of hot sauce and let it think about what it's done for one hour. Don't do overnight or it's way to salty.
