I remember Vulture briefly had this tech that turned him young in the comics - it was in that storyline where Peter's parents reappear but they're actually robots built by the Chameleon.

Nothing says more about poor Otto’s desperate need for mental help than the fact he was all set to marry a six thousand year old mummified corpse lady. May must have had The Hardest Life of all, and maybe a meth habit.

Skwirl posted:The fact that Dan Slott hasn't been dragged in front of the Hague for war crimes mystifies me. He could have just let us all off easy with the assumption that the two of them merely kissed because the old Spider-Man stories might as well be Archie comics for how little sexual content there is, but no, he had to give Peter and us visions of octogenarian tentacle porn. Because apparently the only time those old stories can be revisited in regards to sex is to give Peter and the reader horrific versions of it. His surrogate mother loving his greatest enemy and the love of his life loving his other greatest enemy (who is also her murderer).

JacquelineDempsey posted:Both, sorta. He did the sneaky dress thing with Barda, but IIRC there was a Justice League where WW gets trapped in a lake under some magic ice. Plas is able to squeeze thru a crack, envelope her (while wisecracking about it), then expand enough to bust them free. Teen Titans Go! To the Movies did a PG-ish riff on the Plastic Man Dress gag. Reporters are interviewing Supergirl on the red carpet, and one asks "Who are you wearing?" and she replies "Plastic Man!" and he pops his head out. If you don't like the TTG cartoon, you probably won't like the movie, but it is wall to wall filled with DC references and easter eggs. Shoot, they spend an inordinate amount of running time dunking on the Challengers of the Unknown for criminey's sake. Another good one has a movie poster for a Detective Chimp mystery: "The Case of the Disappearing Mustache" with that last S being Supes' shield. (If you don't get the joke of associating Superman with an erased mustache, well bless your heart). Also, the credits stinger is hinting at Cartoon Network having recently said that they're interested in doing a season 6 of the original Teen Titans cartoon, at the same time as continuing with TTG.

I'll ask because I haven't seen that panel in context. Was it the obvious meta-gag that Plas was joking about how he wants to be more popular so he turns into DC's most overexposed character who isn't Batman or was it a more subtle meta-joke taking a dig at what they're doing to push Harley by tarting her up like they've done since New 52?
