I'm amazed that they haven't tried to adapt Galaxy Truckers into a Kessel-running game TBH. I've toyed with the idea on and off for a while with micro-machines, but I am very lazy and the theme is a bit hard to translate mechanically.

Going to start practicing with 2.0 stuff that some friends brought back from GenCon. Which of these lists is better? Soontir Fel (Lone Wolf+Shield Upgrade+Stealth Device) Howlrunner (Crack Shot) Iden Versio (Crack Shot) Academy Pilot Academy Pilot or Soontir Fel (Lone Wolf+Shield Upgrade OR Stealth Device) -> which of the two? Howlrunner (Crack Shot) Iden Versio (Crack Shot) Black Squadron Ace (Crack Shot) Black Squadron Ace (Crack Shot) Both are 200 on the nose, which sounds like a bad idea with Supernatural Reflexes Vader being a thing. What do you dudes think?

I'm also praying for a Lucrehulk when they bring back Epic play for 2.0. All things considered though, the Lucrehulk is a more probable addition to Armada.

Since they're switching to the model where you don't have to buy every faction to get every card and we haven't heard a word about how Epic will work in 2.0, I'm half afraid they'll abandon the format entirely in this transition. I mean if you don't need to buy an epic ship to get any upgrades for the regular 200v200pt game, how many people will actually buy them?

They doubled down on epic ships for cards with the SSD for Armada, I really doubt that's going away. Might be true for the conversion kits, we'll see if its true for wave two and onward.

my understanding is that the SSD for armada was actually done incl. play testing as of like october last year or something, just got held up entering production bc of legion and armada being super low on the FFG/Star Wars totem pole. So who knows whats going on in that game - I'd love it if Clone Wars came there too but they're way behind on ships from current movies as it is. I would loooove some of those chromed nubian designs for X-Wing some day tho, be curious to see how well that kinda look does in plastic. I know it can be done but idk how easy it is.

FFG did say during the 2.0 reveal that Epic was getting an overhaul that will be released later, but you're right. The new upgrade scheme would impact demand. My prediction, which is a complete shot in the dark, is a conversion kit for each faction containing new cardboard/cards/tokens for one of each Epic Ship in said faction, and re-releases of the Epic Ships bundled with one or two small ships with the old alternate paint schemes to incentivize sales.

Didn't they come with missions &c originally? I have all of them and I think I've only played one game of epic and it took like 4 hours and we did it wrong lol - that said I would loooove for you to be right. A well designed scenario ala Aturi Cluster would be super cool. Plus didn't they hire that guy or something?

If required upgrades were no longer included in Epic ships, that would be the best thing on Earth. The epic ships look cool sure, but epic play is a 3 hour exercise in boredom and having a paywall of $60+ to make a ship better is loving stupid. All it did was ensure I never play that small ship again because everyone else had the paid for version, and I didn't.

I managed to snag an Imp Conversion Kit and Core set from friends who went to GenCon, and this edition is really good. Defenders are properly crazy in comparison to everything else while also being absurdly pricey and I'm glad 2.0 made me like them again, even if the D title is dead. guts and bolts posted:I feel like Norra with stuff should work well against TIE swarms, Luke seems dope as heck, and Wedge deletes people who don't have him in arc. Luke is monstrous and possibly the best single ship in the game point for point. Vader's real close, but T-65s are just really solid now so even losing a PS I say Luke wins out for general usability. Luke looks amazing now, and R2-D2 is arguably better than he was before for X-Wings, but torps look sexy on Luke; Norra in a Y-Wing with ordnance and a turret seems like a solid swarm antidote; and Wedge, man... But I don't know what the gently caress everyone else has. I play Rebels because apart from a brief affair with POW I just don't dig Empire and I've never been a Scum guy. I feel like I have a solid grasp on new Rebels but the sheer amount of data I'm processing just from opening the conversion kit is staggering. I shouldve been paying more attention prerelease. Team Covenant is probably gonna get a gorillion more of my dollars so I can have acrylic Force tokens, and now I have to buy new templates, and gently caress... But 2.0 feels like a much, much tighter game in my test runs. Super exciting. And for the first time since I started playing there's an X-Wing that's just straight up fun to fly. Luke is so goddamn fun man. The new X-Wing mini is janky though.

Alright. Incredibly short notice but I've been coerced at the last minute into serving as an alternate at a store championship in a neighboring city tomorrow. The problem is that I have no idea what the current meta is and have not gone toe to toe with many ships past Wave 9 not to mention the fact that I've probably played two games in the last year. I have no clue what the weaknesses of my list are or what I should look out for. I'm part of a group representing my local FLGS against a store that we have a friendly rivalry with whom I'm told are very competitive so I want to do well. Our last big Australian 1.0tournament is going on this weekend. Went 4-2 with 5 FAA X-wings. Pulled down down nice loot all of it 2.0. This is just the day 1 loot.  This one is by far my favourite

Welp got steamrolled my next three games. Luckily two of my buddies got first and third. It's a fun list but after getting tabled three times never rolling more than 3 evades all game the gods just weren't with me. I'll definitely keep flying this until 2.0 drops.

Holy poo poo, if I'm reading this right from the YASB 2.0 program (and if they've got their point values right), Heavy Laser Cannons are CHEAP now. You can now bring SIX of the lovely little Hutt fighters with HLCs for MEGA SHOOTY.
