Anyone have the link to the thread where some guy from the UK was in Key West (or adjacent) for a wedding while Hurricane Irma made landfall? He refused to evacuate despite multiple goons repeatedly explaining how dangerous staying was, was showing pictures of his eighth story hotel room where they were using sheets and curtains to soak up water coming through the balcony, which was flooded with three feet of water? And then the motherfucker (or maybe one of his roommates) ends up on national news and was super-smug about the whole ordeal while people literally died and were permanently displaced from their homes.

I just went through my own post history to find you the link, bc I know I posted in that thread as my father lives in Key West. I think we've had multiple goons put their lives on the line during hurricanes. There was that one guy responsible for keeping SA up during Katrina and another one named Justin or something who posted live during a storm. No one ever said we were smart people.

Katrina dude wasn't even a goon, just an engineer who worked for the company that hosted SA in 2005. The Naked King of Shoreditch was a goon, however, and was not afraid of a bomb threat that caused the London police to completely evacuate his neighborhood.

Every hurricane season it gets a little weird seeing all these disaster groupies get all horned up hoping a huge cat 5 makes landfall and destroys an entire state. I've gone through a few hurricanes and they're not as scary as going through tornadoes. I used to have a picture I took from my buddy's back porch of a tornado touching down right behind us. I watched it for a good couple of seconds before I realized just what the gently caress I was doing and ran down to the basement to join the rest of my friends. We actually just kinda hung out there and drank while it ripped through his neighborhood. Knocked down a few houses on his street.

They said my trailer was too messy." And then people asked him to post pictures and it was a hoarder's disaster area and then it came out that he had just posted in the PC parts thread budgeting out thousands of dollars for upgrades. But then he and his wife cleaned the place up, he stopped playing WoW, and got his daughter back. Feel good thread of the decade.

Well, she did it on a Sunday, found out school was closed and was discovered in a park with her backpack on just killing time I guess. I think that's when CPS got involved. Some goon who was doing a "I'll draw posts that you link" made an emotionally devastating strip of that. There is a happy ending: he and his wife got scared straight. He got rid of his gaming rig, strictly rationed his computer time, enrolled in school. They got a new apartment, and if not exactly pristinely clean, it was tidy.
