I assume that dude is in for some serious money and also Hero U is in permanent financial peril so he knows who holds the cards. I can’t think of another reason why a creator would let some random guy basically hijack his entire campaign.

Karlee Esmailli is the head of accounts for Cards Against Humanity, a game company so filthy rich it literally has its own PAC, so hopefully when people are done being wowed by her laser-focused kickstarter pitch they realize that she's just another wealthy established creator using Kickstarter as a preorder platform and for publicity. Especially when per the campaign page itself the game itself is already written so there's no way it's not going to be released one way or another.
if kickstarter worked like this 100% of the time it would be a net gain for the world.

Kickstarter doesn't have moderation tools.

Apparently he's a high-tier backer who backed all those "for $999 you get your say in the game!", thinking that would give him carte blanche to inflict his crazy on the developers, and when they refused, he just meltdown everywhere.
The devs actually made an attempt to reason with him:

The game's already funded and released so they're not in any peril, but I guess this is the downside of letting anyone with enough money into your design process.

Can't get to it right now, but I'm pretty sure there's a post by that dude about how he wasn't really happy with how it turned out.

A few years back Retsupurae featured a “yonic beer” in their Kickstarter Nonstarter series. The selling point was the source of yeast for the beer, which given the name is exactly what it describes. Supposedly from specific models (who are featured under the peel-away label on the bottle), the failed KS has somehow found an investor. Do you feel women are wholly objects for consumption? This may be the beer for you!

Ya forgot to mention how one of the tiers was to have a specific woman fly out to Germany or Poland to be prepped to have their own yeast harvested.

a cold juice presser is an in demand item . The big problem with juieero was the pricing for the bags that you couldnt fill yourself and that the machine was bad at juicing.

its probably the same thing with the juice-drm removed. You better use our special proprietary bags though or you are so sued.

The way they measure the pressure is totally BS too. The juicero had advertised 4 tons and didnt press the packs totally flat

Well, yeah, obviously. They claim the pouches are reusable, but it seems doubtful you'd buy an $800 juicer with the selling point that it never needs to be cleaned and then spend your time scrubbing out filter bags.

e: The best part is that unless the gadget is wildly successful in a few years the pouches will be discontinued and your juicer becomes a paperweight.

I know brevity is the soul of wit, but I feel a shorter title wouldn't really capture the spirit of the product.

you can get a cheap juicer for like 150 dollars that "needs cleaning" and just put it in the dishwasher you bought for 250 dollars and still come out ahead on this.

The kinds of people who buy into the woo about the importance of guzzling down plant squeezings to recharge your JO crystals or whatever think that you have to also do it in a specific way to get the most magical power from it and that it just happens to be from a juicer that costs half a grand or more. It's all the insidiousness of audiophile placebo moneypits with an added dash of quack medicine desperation.

I just like, buy actual juice at the store. That and fruit. You know, I just sometimes, I know this might be crazy, eat raw and unprocessed piece of fruit.

I mean, orange juice is good but oranges are also pretty good just as they are.

I used to find the constant invention of stupid kitchen gadgets kind of amusing. Now I find it depressing as it's a pretty obvious symptom of end stage capitalism. You're not allowed to be satisfied with anything, ever. No! You need more overpriced gadgets you'll use twice then shove in the corner.

Why can't I just like...I don't know...do something crazy like cut my vegetables with a knife then stir fry them in a wok? People have been doing that poo poo for...gently caress...centuries? Millenia? I don't even know but it gets the job done and has for a really drat long time. I don't need $5,000 of gadgets to do that. It doesn't even really need a fancy knife. Or a fancy wok. Or a fancy stove, even! gently caress, you could probably accomplish it with some scrap metal and a bonfire.
