sampling the wine while u cook with it is the best also the other day I tried drinking the “cooking” wine - the kind that isn’t sold in the wine aisle. it was pretty bad hth

prolly better than a glass full of bitters or uh, vanilla extract

pretty sure the cheapest wine beats out any "cooking wine" in .... anything. now stand back while I use o'douls in this stew.

IIRC cooking wine and other cooking alcohols are very low quality that have salt added to them to make them less than palatable on their own. This way only food tax needs to be paid and no alcohol tax because it's a food product now.

spent the weekend going to breweries in asheville. hit the usual ones on the south slope downtown but also went to new belgium and sierra nevada, which are the fanciest by far, but sierra nevada is some next level poo poo. thats one of the nicest buildings ive ever been in

yeah if you live in a wine producing country an $8 bottle of wine is vastly better than cooking wine and will improve your food (probably even if you don't live in a wine country).

I realized that I'm really a basic creature at heart and I'll always return home to Lancaster Milk Stout when the chips are down. I'll be real sad if they ever stop making this poo poo.

sorry about your pupper, BoB im making wine at the moment because there are millions of berries around free for the picking. got two on the go, the crowberry one is going kinda slow but gently bubbling, the mushroom one is fermenting like crazy and smells like it could strip the paint off the walls i'm excited but wine takes sooo long cos you need to age it. my gf wants to try making blueberry cider so we have something to drink in the meantime
