I've seen it.
The first 30 minutes or so of dancing before it all goes bad are great. Kinda makes me want him to try a story that doesn't end up in spectacular misery.

She was great in Atomic Blonde and Hotel Artemis (which I am pretending feature her as the same character, some sort of immortal French vampire assassin who can heal like Wolverine)

That's like trying to find a Lars Von Trier film that doesn't brutalize the female protagonist.

Youtube just suggested me this trailer for UFO, a movie star- I mean featuring Gillian Anderson in a terrible red wig:

I know, it's obviously a really low budget production, not really fair to make fun of- oh hey, that's Audacity!

How do these people get these actors? My friend who went to film school does short films on the side and he was telling me last year they shot a film with Cathy Moriarty and I was just like ???

Don't forget that Star Citizen, potentially the biggest scam in the history of gaming, got people like Gary Oldman, Mark Strong and Anderson.

Generally the reason is that with the low budgets, the movies are shot on a, shall we say, aggressive schedule, so the actors only have to be on set for a few weeks at most and it's an easy paycheck. Gillian Anderson, for example, has almost certainly made enough money from The X-Files that she never has to work again, but I'm sure she doesn't mind doing a bullshit project here and there to help building her kids' college funds / inheritances / whatever.

I believe Eric Roberts has a recording booth setup in his house, so if he can do a voiceover role while working from home, he's absolutely fine doing it because it's an almost-free $630 per day.

Star Citizen wouldn't be the biggest scam in the history of gaming if they hadn't spent some of the money convincing people that one day there'd be a finished product. When you've got eight figures out of people, dropping $50k on getting some name actors for a week is nothing.

DeimosRising is saying that in the twelve years between Children of Men and now, Cuarón only made one film (Gravity), but that the film he made before Gravity (Children of Men) is one of the best of the 21th century. He phrased it a bit confusingly perhaps, but I can't disagree with the sentiment.

Yuck.

To each their own, but I find that visual style extremely unappealing. And that writing style. And that directing style.

Oh well, Disney has done a superb job in breaking me of my Star Wars habit over the past few years and this is just another nail in the coffin. Literally the only thing I've enjoyed from their stewardship is The Last Jedi because it's the only one that took any kind of risk or had anything interesting to say.

Eric Roberts does pretty much anything that'll cross his desk, to the tune of 70+ IMDB credits in a year. Decent hustle, if you have that kind of work ethic.

I imagine his only question every time he’s offered a role is who’s doing the catering.
