The church as described is really dangerous and kinda hosed up. The logical abyss-dweller response would have been to kill her and liquidate the whole church membership too in order to prevent any sneaky poo poo like transferring your soul or powers.

Dammit we've been wrong all along thinking he needed to put points into wisdom, charisma was truly the most useful all along! I hope that now that he's at buck-wild intelligence he starts spreading those stat points around a bit just to see the effect it has on his life.

It also seems like the deal offered was better than his counter. If he can buy at 50% and resell, that's infinite money even if he doesn't do gamer shenanigans with the items. From the sound of what he's asking for even with that exploit it'd take awhile to buy all the stuff he wants, but I'd expect it to take no longer than two months if no one is messing with him, and applying that 50% off to when he finally buys the stuff too. Guess he really wants to get that insane power-up super quickly, which I can get the logic there but still. One wonders if he's wise enough to realize the loophole is that if he really takes his time leveling up crafting to the point where he can make what they want he can keep stringing them along, although it's debatable how much you want to piss off the abyss auction and the inevitably evil powers that want him to make an inevitably evil item.

I'm guessing it's a case of the auctions just having so much it's hard to find exactly what he wants, especially with the no side effects stipulation but it does feel like it's not that great of a deal

While playing the auction house with a 50% discount could make him a lot of money, it also requires him to have a lot of money to do so and even if he did, it would still take time. Both in terms of time invested for him personally, but also in terms of the amount of time it takes to sell something. Nor is it risk free, as you never know what sort of influence the crafter he's undercutting is rocking.

Yeah I mean it's not a bad deal he struck, based on the knowledge he has, but I just really wasn't expecting him to walk away from something that could be so clearly exploited with grinding. In my Wow days some of the most fun I had was advertising enchanting services in town and making bank on the auction house, but I guess he's just not that kind of gamer.

It basically comes down to wanting power quickly vs. wanting money. Jee-Han already has insane money making potential just from selling what drops he gets when he grinds. Sitting around playing the auction house isn't grinding his skills or stats (unless there's an auctioneer skill.) I mean, he still got a bum deal because he agreed carte blanche to create an item for the Abyss Auction and I don't see them asking for something that he wouldn't have some concern making.

I mean, one day he has to just click yes on a box and completely nerf his own powerset right? Seems like a wasted chance for drama if he doesn't. Plus with him being the star of the show so often him having to rely on his friends, and see all his friends fight including his best friend who basically never has been shown fighting, would be a fun change of pace. And maybe in a nerfed state he still has the puppet contract in place so the Church of Masks gal helps him too. The epic quest for a respec potion, basically. And the payoff is that he just picks all the same stats and just chooses not to click on or learn the thing that nerfed him. Comedy option is that he loses all the grinding he put into the skills too.

At least the "inherent skills can affect inherent skills" loophole means there's some potential for him to get clowned. ...Actually, the true power of The Gamer is to force your opponents to come at you in an orderly fashion, from weak to strong, so you have time to level rather than the final boss personally loving you up.

Classic low wisdom play to get into a fight with a group that's based around a near gamer-level cheat power and then pass on your actual gamer-cheat power to them after you beat them. On the other hand, there's only so much trouble anyone can give him now that he's able to fire infinite nukes and is living with/training a melee specialist to cover that weakness in his build. I keep waiting for Jee-han to outright lose a fight and he just never does, now I guess the question is what insanely powerful character or group will come after him next and get their rear end(es) kicked?

I'll be real sad if it is, fun to see what he's fighting bust out his kind of magical bullshit for a change. I'd get a kick out of him making a pet out of a random dungeon boss, seems like that'd be more fun than just killing it. On the other hand something that tough has to have some sick loot, and it's been a long time since we saw the goofy stuff that dungeon monsters can drop.
