Gonna have a second go at it today with my skitarii - first game I got utterly stomped and that was with a couple rules misconceptions in my favor lol. Power armor is not to be hosed with in KT I'll say that much.

There's models out there for the Castellan's guns, but I'm waiting for someone to offer the Valiant's harpoon and conflag cannon so I can swap between them. Although from a few battle reports I've seen them in the Valiant seems to have a hard time getting stuck in early enough to bring all of it's stuff to bear.

I am extremely disappointed that your company would produce a model like this. But when I see that you are producing a figure of a faux-Klansman in today’s political climate it makes me reconsider supporting your company.

I am in a mixed-race marriage myself. To me the KKK isn’t a sort of fun-scary thing like a pretend Chaos Marine or Daemon. They are a real threat to my family - my wife and my children - and even indirectly supporting them by producing models which evoke their symbols of hate will make me stop my participation in this hobby.

I'm very familiar with the history of your game, including the references in terms of Necromunda Redemptionists and the "grimdark" nature of the 40K universe. While I'm aware that this is not the first time your company has used a capirote on a model, the combination of that distinctive style along with a hangman's noose evokes racist connotations such as the Ku Klux Klan. Within the United States this is extremely controversial. I understand that GW is a UK company and may not have the cultural exposure to see such an image as overtly racist and extremely inappropriate, but the onus falls on you as an international company to have an international perspective. Racial tensions are at an all time high within the United States, and the consequence of spreading a model like this will have both social and business consequences.

From a social consequence, you will be spreading a symbol of hate. You will be propagating the inappropriate attitude that images like this are acceptable, in fact profiting from it. You will be encouraging the perspective that there are circumstances where something evocative of the Ku Klux Klan will be okay to show. You will be associating your company with ignorance, if not outright promoting it.

From a business perspective you run the very real risk of not only alienating a significant portion of the customer base, particularly the black community, but also exposing yourself to a major backlash on social media. Spend a moment imaging how easy it would be for someone to paint that model white, particularly if that happened in a Warhammer store by a staff member, and how difficult it would be for your company to defend it. The negative exposure could easily cost more than the price of retooling.

I implore you; do the right thing and never release that model. Use this as an opportunity to determine how an entire company could have gone from concept to reveal without considering the links to extremely well-known symbols of hatred within one of your largest markets.
