I'm always kind of amazed when Hooters gets brought up in a scandalous way, who the gently caress actually goes there for boobs? Don't people have the internet? It's always felt like such a cartoony/ tacky take on "strippers" it's never really felt like a really "selling sex" thing. Not that I'd recommend the place, but we used to go for all you can eat wings when I was a young idiot living in the barracks... they're... Okay. I just never get why they're even noteworthy. A lot of trump sex anecdotes have him just talking with parts of the woman or bragging to her in general about himself. They don't care about the sex. They just want a pretty woman to fawn over them.

In comparison to everybody else’s experience I could probably write a feel-good slice of life comedy about he healthy relationships of our submarine’s social network of mostly bartenders, strippers, and restaurant employees. MWR boat rentals and beach drinking is the byline, not being weird is how you turn it into a friendship.

It's just funny that people are like "I want to go some place to see scantily clad women because it's IRL and not the internet, it's so much better!" But you're not going to touch them without a probable lawsuit/getting thrown out of the place, and you're going to end up paying them money to essentially look at half a tit and some tight booty shorts.... They aren't interested in you personally, but they'll play the game so you shill out an extra 20% on your tip because "she's into me bruh" Maybe it's just me and I'm just some "soy boy" but that seems dumb as gently caress in my opinion.... But I suppose I'm not a creepy dude who thinks that's a good way to spend my money.. People are stupid

I’ve ever been one for hooters but I didn’t think it would be a point of contention that people would rather go see scantly clad women in person instead of on the internet.

Just go to college since the current fashion trend is yoga pants. Pay for an education, stay for the butt peepin

My mom was a 20-something lesbian just out of the Navy, so I went to Hooters a lot as a kid. I now have a ... complicated relationship with women. Also as a Vegas resident and a former casino security officer, Hooters is the saddest loving on/just-off strip hotel, beating out old-dog-rear end casinos like the Trop and Ellis Island. At least Ellis Island knows what it is and loving owns it, with karaoke and a hella cheap drinks.

I went to Hooters a few times about a decade ago because one of the dudes at work had some discount or some such from knowing one of the supervisors. Food was decent, if not particularly good, and if you aren’t creepy with the waitresses and don’t demand attention, surprise, they function like normal waitresses. My top complaint was that it was ungodly loud from having music and sports blasting to the point where hearing protection might’ve been required if OSHA did an audit. I was also surprised by the number of families with kids that were ever present. No desire to go back, as any area with the money and population to support a hooters has the money to support far better alternatives that also aren’t kind of creepy.

The best places to eat are hole in the walls, or independent resturants that are well established in the community. So yeah, just stay away from chain restaurants and you'll have a good time.

Dude had a wife, kids, and was good at his job. Drugs don't necessarily discriminate, and you can easily function it, although there's always that point where you tumble off that ledge and your "functionality" goes out the window, especially when you abuse it on the worksite.

Generally though I agree, love the dive places.
