I dunno; that screenshot doesn't seem to have much artistic unity between the two sprites (maybe they've got a lot of artists, or maybe the art was stolen), and the Joan/Jane in the screenshots looks a little too much like Fate/Grand Order's version of the character.

The original Kite anime is absolutely hentai. It's also really loving weird hentai because it's basically just an action OVA with insanely graphic sex scenes in it, and has more effort put into the non-sex stuff than a lot of "normal" anime. The movie with SLJ is also actually pretty solid, and feels like a super budget version of the most recent Judge Dredd movie. e: I don't even really care that I'm walking into a nerd trap here, I'm fairly open that I like grunchy-rear end old anime

I think that director's hentai was one of those "we'll give you the budget but it better have lots of loving in it" situations but uh yeah there is definitely a lot of loving in them. but it gave us that radical bathroom fight where they fall out of the window and end up crashing a truck down through the street and poo poo so gently caress yea

The weirdest thing about the Kite movie is that Quentin Tarantino had nothing to do with it. IIRC, Quentin Tarantino loving loves that hentai and would recommend it to his friends and stuff. If anybody out there would go "I'm going to make a live action adaptation of my favorite hentai" then it'd be him. So here's a live action version of his favorite hentai and it even has Samuel L Jackson in it, an actor that Quentin loves hiring for his films, and yet this live action film has no trace of Tarantino whatsoever.
