I don�t understand the 0.5x pen previous stroke comment. Unless it�s referring to an ischemic stroke which this thread had on a massive and like ability to even lift a fork robbing way a long time ago.

I think you'll find on a careful rewatch that your A-press count is off by roughly 0.5 presses. hth

Pretty sure that's the right conclusion. I don't know poo poo about Mario 64, but that video seems to mostly about understanding integer overflow, basic geometry, and console programming limitations, then applying it to power gaming a children's videogame while inventing a bunch of obfuscating terms along the way. It's all so uninteresting.

It's a speedrun because his criteria is 1. A presses 2. time. So two runs with the same number of A presses are judged by speed. That's why if you look at his other videos he'll post poo poo like "figured out a faster strat to do x level in y presses" even though he could already do it in y presses.

It's not a speedrun, it's an A press challenge. A move that uses fewer A presses takes priority over a move that takes less time. If there's a shorter move that uses fewer presses, they'll go with that, but otherwise it's presses first.
