What has been the polling in Hunter’s district prior to his arrest? I’ve seen Facebook ads from his opponent suggesting the race might be competitive but the news media seems to assume it’s a given that Hunter will win despite all this.

California’s economy is obviously good, but I wouldn’t say it “blows every other state’s out of the water”. Just chiming in to say I absolutely agree we have a horrendous affordable housing crisis that is a huge black mark on it's "progressive" posturing. I was more responding to the insinuation in the report that our pro-labor / anti-employer laws were somehow dragging the state down when in fact they appear to be doing the opposite and making us thrive. Like the one thing I agreed with in the entire report is them citing NIMBY's preventing coastal development despite rampant demand.

fully 8.8% of the factor is whether or not you are free to not have health insurance or be offered horrible bullshit doesn't-cover-anything plans that the state makes no effort to regulate. 30.4% is just "taxation" with I guess we'll safely assume blanketly lower = more free (to try to survive without services) 5.3% = "rent control is always bad" (freedom to be priced out of your community and have to leave it, including your job, friends, church, whatever, gently caress off you're out for being too poor) I'm on board with, effectively, "3-strikes and drug laws are bullshit" though.
