lol i tried mining ore, but then i got super frustrated that i wasn't getting results. Then i clicked on the rock and saw the ore. now with my new found knowledge, I start a new game, but then 30 loving people jump my robot rear end and kill my dog. the game kills my dog in 5 minutes, I actually kind of liked it so I have no idea how to play this game, or who I should start as, but honestly, even at 2x speed everything seems to take forever. The 5 man start is kind of complicated too, I kind of want to start as 5 skeletons so I don't have to focus on food.

A big protip is to just turn food to 1.5 in the advanced options so you still have to deal with it, but not at the dumbass rate that they have it set to. Also don't do the man with a dog start, its a newbie trap. The dog starts out as a pup and can't kill anything until it ages, whereas a fully grown bonedog can gently caress up a group of hungry bandits alone.

Speaking of animals, is there any way to heal animals faster? Some cannibals broke the legs of my Garr, and it's been limping since. Doesn't seem you can put them in a bed to help them heal faster, and I didn't find anything like an animal bed.

It's actually a bug, but you can put them in a bed, it just doesn't look like you can put them in, they also need someone to take them out, its not something they can do on their own. I put my dog on the sleeping bed under the stairs and the guy (who was upstairs) literally just dumped the dog on the top of the stairs and watched him roll down it, but the dog was "in bed" according to the game. You can also splint their injuries.

I don't care if it's cheating- this game is unplayable without the prisoner recruitment mod. You'll actually look forward to your base getting raided by high level dudes.

To everyone who hasn't been loving around in the Fog Islands, I highly recommend that every Kenshi player should try to get their rear end to Obedience (the crater-like area north/north east of Mongrel) at least once.

Always bring a skeleton when you adventure, in general. It's your way into the game's Secret Plot, they interact with a ton of stuff.

What are the Shek's moral failings? Holy Nation hates women and non-humans. United Cities has slave markets all over the place and nobles who hunt poor people. Shek seem to be casually racist against non Shek, but rude comments and weird honor duels seem much more preferable to slave trade and religious extremism.

They're basically the standard "Noble Savage" faction. Also, they're almost all dumber than dirt in the "I would sacrifice thousands in the name of glory" way. They're definitely preferable to the others, though.

Stop hitting rocks. Loot corpses instead. (You're in no position to make corpses yourself, have someone else do that)

Turtlicious posted:like with 5 dudes, im guessing it's gonna be about 4 hours before I even have a shack?? don't buy a shack, it's way too small. if you're in Hub, just save up for the 4.8k storm house instead. everything you need for basic non-farm tech is available at the bar, and the "rebel base" vendor has a separate stock of the same pool of items. I timed one guy with 60 laboring (1x work speed) and it took 20 seconds on max speed to mine one copper, so that's 600 money per minute of uninterrupted max speed mining. zero skill is 0.5x work speed so with 4 dudes mining and 1 hauling you should be able to get a house, materials, food, etc in under 10 minutes ... assuming it's daytime, no one is injured, and you don't get attacked by bandits. once you have the house and the free researches done, you can build a copper storage that your dudes will auto-haul to, and then you don't have to worry about money anymore.

That's way more boring than just running around picking corpses clean and stealing poo poo. Like just walk to mongrel and pick up prince heads for 6k a pop or go looking for conflict and looting the defeated makes thousands of cats very quickly.

At the beginning of a new game I always go out and kidnap dust bandits to sell their stuff. Sure you have a 0 assassination skill to start but every failure is like 5 levels early on and if you fail or get spotted just try again after they give up the chase. Once you get enough money for a large backpack fill it up with bandit gear, put it in your inventory and carry a bandit till you have 15 strength, now you can carry a body and run at full speed so kidnapping is even easier. Much more fun than mining and gives you much more valuable skills than labouring.

I'm constantly fighting outside of Squin on my ironman save (playing it safer because of that). Currently i've got 5 dudes/dudettes with crossbows, a garru and a bonedog (pups). Current gameplay loop is go out and fight some people for levels (if I don't think I can win I leave the animals and one person at home) and sell their loot, then shove whoever's the most injured in a bed/mine whatevers outside. I've been stockpiling food while i'm at it. I've got a shitton of food in both Squin and the Hub. Gonna buy out the hub at this rate and use it as a research town. Shove a couple small wind generators on the roof of a couple buildings, put batteries in small shacks, etc. It's slow going but I generally only play this save while i'm doing other poo poo and its way more interesting for me than having 20 dudes and just throwing them at enemies and picking up whoever's left. At some point I need to get my martial artist delimbed and shove punching arms on the guy. I assume acid rain is the best way.

# ? Aug 29, 2018 10:28 |

Nah acid rain hits all your body parts at the same time irregardless of your armor or clothing. So like if you're wearing 50% acid resist from all your gear you're still getting 50% of the effect on your entire body. Best way "safe" way is to feed them to fogmen/animals or download the peeler mod. Edit: Actually, running around barefoot on acid terrain will gently caress up your legs something fierce, maybe crawling around naked on the same terrain will strip your limbs? It's more about abusing the healing system. Your healers target the "core" parts first, so they'll heal the head, then the body, then the stomach, then the limbs. So get it to the point where their limbs are being burned off and just patch the rest, then leave them to rot off.
|
# ? Aug 29, 2018 11:35 |

The thing is acid damage can't be healed with medics, the damage it does isn't red or treatable.

Oh poo poo, I swear i remember seeing a video where he abused it. Oh well, guess i'll just have to let the fogmen do their thing. I saw a cool way of doing it where a guy got a super tough character knocked out by fogmen and had him unlock the shackles, but let 3 of his bodyparts get eaten. He then released himself, slapped on two scout legs (specialist) and a punching arm before sprinting off at super speed. Stopped to heal every few seconds to stop the bleeding, but yeah, was a good idea.

Yeah, its "the holy flame" and whoever talks to him needs to have it in their inventory. The alternative, of course is to just ally with the shek or something and tell the holy nation to go gently caress themselves, because gently caress them.

You've kind of hosed yourself, there. What you can do is hire a male greenlander and let him talk to them with a copy of that book and they should gently caress off. I believe they still do "inspections" though.

They should just do it if you have it set as a job. If your stone storage box isn't halfway across the map press ctrl - shift - f11, save then reload. Occasionally the navmesh gets hosed. That fixes it.
