If he's going to do it he might as well do it while Ryan is still in office so we can all beat him over the head with his assertion that it wasn't a legitimate concern. Or just watch footage of him trying to run away from hard questions.

I'm somewhat confident that the US would be much, much worse. As it is, this happened in a shithole place that had something around 35% of voters supporting the AfD, Germany's totally-not-racist party that almost literally had died into nonexistence and irrelevance when they were "saved" by the refugee crisis giving them a single issue to mobilize voters on. And numbers-wise, this is still a fairly small demonstration (albeit intermixed with shithead "concerned citizens"), and this is in a country of 80 million people that has taken in something around 200.000 refugees per year. The USA are a country of 300 million people that accepts less than 50.000 (?) refugees per year (with the craziest screening structure on the planet in place, no less), and recently elected a decorative hate-squash who thinks people in Nazi demonstrations are very fine people, and made it okay again for the racists to come out of their holes. If y'all took in even half the number Germany currently does, poo poo'd be on fire, yo. To be on par per capita with Germany, the US would have to take in 700.000 refugees per year. Dwell on that and picture the GOP/Trump's reaction to that for one second.

That image keeps making me giggle because of the old geezer whom seems to be explosively pissing a flower. Then I remember what followed that very scene and how sentencing went, and I get pissed off that a white supremacist yelling "HEY friend of the family" before shooting into a crowd was only convicted of discharging a firearm within 1000ft of a school or something. I mean, logically, I can somewhat understand the prosecutor's motivation, but it still pisses me off that he had to go for that because a jury of peers might have easily acquitted a guy that yelled "HEY friend of the family" before shooting into a loving crowd, and that somehow is the reality in the US judicial system.

Duzzy Funlop posted:That image keeps making me giggle because of the old geezer whom seems to be explosively pissing a flower. If I remember from the video correctly, the guy who shouted tried to fire at the guy first but the safety or something was on. Given the time to remember to remove the safety, he also remembered "maybe I shouldn't shoot this black person on camera" and fired into the ground. I also vaguely recall the old guy being with those two because he was scared and they said they'd protect him.

lol found this when I was looking for that picture: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/08/every-day-is-august-12-in-charlottesville/567176/ quote:Since Charlottesville, Long has been a prime target of criticism among white nationalists and leaders associated with their movement. Among the most vocal is Jason Kessler, the organizer of the “Unite the Right” rally. “That son of a bitch fired a flamethrower into a crowd of people and got off with a slap on the wrist,” Kessler wrote in an email. He added: “If I fired a flamethrower at a crowd of liberals, I would be in prison for the rest of my life. Corey Long is making a living out of it.” Mr. Nice! posted:Thats exactly why hes there and also why the black guy with the flaming can didnt get convicted of anything.
