How the hell are this many people so aggressively BAD at basic comprehension tasks? Like...even if you didn't get it from the movie itself, I've posted maps, I've posted screenshots, I've posted Wookieepedia articles....like, what is it gonna take for you people to admit YOU'RE WRONG?

I don't think theres even anything of value that would have been lost to the movie either, if they had just cut right there with no other changes at all

Really my three changes to TLJ would be Finn and Poe go on the casino side story run, Leia suicides out, and cut at Kylo asking Rey to join him

Well as long as we are making fantasy changes, Poe should have stayed dead. He's a bad character who adds nothing.

Maps and wiki articles aren't in the movie.

As for screenshots, well, let's take a look. We've pretty much got one frame:

I would like you to tell me what about this image is inconsistent with Coruscant.

I actually think there is a possible visual argument to be made here. But first I want to see you try.

Oh my loving god, do we have to loving do this song and dance again??

loving hell. IT'S ALL CANONICAL. Everything is part of the same overarching continuity. THe books, comics, movies, etc are all telling parts of the same story. So If a book tells me the name of the planet, specifically, is Hosnian Prime, then IT IS. THAT IS HOW STAR WARS WORKS

If you're little tiny brain can't handle that, if your attention span is too short to hold more than the pretty lights and colors in your mind, maybe find something else to follow. Teletubbies perhaps? The Simpsons?

There's something to be said for dying a hero (after being a stormtrooper who changed for the better).

Instead, he lived and now he's the idiot for laughs.

"They destroyed the Hosnian System, but not Coruscant!"

Now if we just rewrite this a bit, we get:

"They destroyed the Solar System, but not Earth!"

That doesn't seem to make sense, Earth is IN the Solar System.

This is what people are saying jivjov, there is nothing IN THE MOVIES that says Coruscant isn't in the Hosnian System. And that planet sure looks like Coruscant visually and is the capital, so when the Hosnian System goes boom...?

Well, I'll just go ahead and say it, since I'm not going to get the satisfaction of seeing jivjov use his eyes.

Coruscant has lots of domes. Even its tall narrow spires are pretty rounded. For all that these are mind-bogglingly massive skyscrapers, they look kind of stubby:

The ones on Hosnian are all sharp right angles. There seems to be less metal and more stone, too. I might've accidentally talked myself into believing that they were different planets all along.

You probably already know this, but most people posting here, when talking about a movie, only use that movie or others in it's series as evidence/talking points.

We are all well aware that there is extra stuff outside the movies that give info, but seeing as it isn't in the movie, we don't care.

Yes, yes, "it's all equally canon now!". We know, we've heard you. We just don't care.

If it ain't in the movie, it doesn't exist. You probably should just start accepting this and move on. Unless you're a troll, in which case, well played.

Jivjiov: Star Wars is about multimedia continuity! But wait, why are the lasers in this movie still the wrong color? And Kylo Ren's scar is different than it should be. . .
The Story Group [making subtle gesture]: You don't see any lasers that are the wrong color. Kylo Ren's scar was always that way.
Jivjov: I don't see any lasers that are the wrong color. His scar was always that way, because canon means continuity.
The Story Group: A conscious decision to make Jakku look exactly like Tatooine is just a strange coincidence.
Jivjov: It's just a coincidence. This officially licensed item agrees with me.
The Story Group: You can continue not watching movies critically.
Jivjov: I can continue not watching movies critically.
The Story Group: Move along.
