Fighters are now World of Warships/Homeworld style and the term "APM" actually applies to them, especially for supercarriers, who can launch 5 flights to the normal carrier's 3. They also divorced triage and remote rep from carriers and supercarriers into a new ship class, Force Auxiliaries. Triage reduces your damage to zero, so all FAX can do is heal and die. Capital remote reps are worse than large reps outside of triage, too, so you can't just shoehorn them onto carriers/supercarriers anyways and expect to do any good.

It looks like off-grid boosting has been dead for two years, so if I'm coming back into this game should I turn all my T2 leadership skills into injectors and put them into something else or keep them? The guy who has them flys a lovely tengu and/or command ship with marginal support or weapon skills.

Boosting is now an AoE thing. You still have the same categories you used to have, but instead of a single module for a single boost, you have the category module and consumable scripts for that specific boost. Anything outside of your boost range fails to get the buff. Alternately: Roller Coast Guard posted:Boosting is now pretty much like flying a Hictor and everyone inside your bubble gets the fleet bonus instead of being tackled. but it's only when the module activates, not continuous.

I figure it would be better to just dump it all into Tengu related things or start him towards a Carrier. I used to use it either to solo Maze with a Ishtar or C4 sleepers with a Rattlesnake, but I dont think either of those is a real thing anymore. If it's really clutch for goon fleet ops I'd keep it though.

Is there like a news service I can read to get regular updates on whether or not we're winning the war/what the gently caress else is going on in the galaxy? So far all I have to judge how the war's going is the occasional fleet where we go smash up a starbase unopposed and a very occasional fight which I guess means we're winning, but that's just one rookie's personal experience so for all I can prove we're getting our asses kicked on the strategic level and it bugs me that I don't know.

If you CAN fly doctrine stuff, DO fly doctrine stuff, but if you can't, and it's not something like a stealth bomber or instaceptor fleet where having the wrong ship along will gently caress everything up, don't feel like you have to sit something out because you don't have a proper doctrine ship. Sometimes if a fleet is really full, people in non-standard stuff will get asked to drop fleet to make more room, but that's about it.

As a newbee the number one best ship to train for any fleet is the Vigil. Get minmatar frigate 4, train target painting, signature focusing to 4 as well. I believe long distance jamming and frequency modulation also affect paints as well? So train them to 4 also. That'll be a few days but vigils are the number one most useful frigate by far because they help your fleet do more damage to the enemy fleet. Just put your target painters on whoever the FC broadcasts and you get on every killmail and do a ton of good for your fleet. Every fleet (with a few exceptions) should have 2-5 vigils along.

You cannot do anything of importance in EVE without other people, and you basically can't figure EVE out enough to have fun on your own. Anyone playing eve got help when they were starting out, and any group in EVE functions only by being able to recruit new people so they want to help.
