TGS is in two weeks, so they might announce something there. I'd like them to go back to the 4 trial format for the next game since 5 is too much and these games need less filler. Maybe go back to the 3 day trials for one case (the last one obviously) as a one-off for some ~~drama.~~

Ghost Leviathan posted:I'd actually like to see a revisit of the civil trial idea (even though it doesn't make a LOT of sense given the Wright Anything Agency clearly specialises in criminal law and in murder in particular, it did make sense in that particular case given they're the only lawyers anyone knows and know each others' tactics) with some actual stakes to it, or at least both sides giving their all until the very end. They're also running out of ways to make their prosecutors be sympathetic characters who are all to willing to send innocent people to the chair and letting killers go free. I mean, it's kind of the premise of the series, but I don't think any prosecutors have acknowledged the stakes since... Godot? They're suffering a common series problem in that they have the need to constantly raise the stakes and keep them as high as possible in everything for ~drama~. It's not like anime (and Ace Attorney is extremely anime) has never gotten a lot of mileage out of ridiculously low stakes taken ridiculously seriously.

Yeah, I really hope they dial it back but I’m also not convinced we’re not getting lawyering in space by the end of 7

It must be really hard for a long run series to remain fresh and exciting, huh. Honestly to me, ace attorney's... ace is that there is nothing quite like it. The only series you could turn to to scratch that itch would be danganronpa I guess. So if they could just change the main cast once in a while that would mean at least part of the gameplay is changing once in a while.

If you're referring to Hotel Dusk then yeah, this one which eventually got an international release, but Hotel Dusk's writer wasn't involved so it sucks.

Athena is ready to have her Ace Attorney 1, and come into her own under desperate circumstances. What I'm trying to say is, it's time to murder Phoenix Wright. The only problem with this is that I can't imagine how the hair will work when Maya is channeling him.

And who would be prosecuting Apollo for Phoenix Wright's murder? Why, Maya channelling Phoenix Wright, of course. You can do it Athena!

I always thought it was kinda funny that in AA5 Apollo is posed like a dead body in the first case. wonder if that was in response to AA4

We know for a fact that there's a new game in the series in development for the Switch, and the common rumors is that 123 and a new collection of 456 are coming to Switch as well.

They're aiming to get AA7 out before the end of the fiscal year, and they're saying this panel is unmissable, so it's a 99% chance of a formal AA7 announcement.

But wasn't that said sometime around April? Plans might've changed since. I would love it if i'm wrong, but I don't want to hope too much. That said, it would be pretty amazing if Capcom can pull a hat trick with Megaman 11, Devil May Cry 5 and Ace Attorney 7 within a few months of each other.

I mean Games take some time to make. It's likely that it was a Metroid Prime 4 situation and development was in the super early stages. They wouldn't use the word "unmissable" if the announcement was just a random collection of the two sideseries. Waffleman_ fucked around with this message at 15:52 on Sep 21, 2018 |
