No joke: when I was really young my parents owned a combined folk arts and secondhand bookstore. I was probably about six years old at the time. We mostly had fairies and gumnut baby stuff, but at one point we had a window display of golliwog dolls. At that age I didn't even recognize them as depictions of black people, let alone offensive caricature. I just thought they were funny little men and imagined them as a combination of Santa's elves and the gingerbread man.

It's a bit much saying that he's drawn Osaka wrong when the skin tone, darkened eyes under cap and blonde hair are the standout parts of the way she looks at a distance. No one has mentioned that the ref is a rosy cheeked white englishman, none of his features match the greying Portuguese man that umpired the game.
