Chrono Trigger has lots of nice moments & neat mechanics but man that sound design was loving abysmal also I don't understand why Cell was there or why he had nipple lasers

Dragon Quest XI is so loving good that I can't even think about other jrpgs at the moment lol. Every party member is fun from both a story and gameplay perspective and they all fit together perfectly. It's big but in a way that's generous instead of stretched out, like it almost feels like it's moving too fast but it's long and replayable. It's something you can dive in deeply and it's also something you can just dip in for a little bit whenever you want. Anyway game good lol

DQ11 is hella long but it's also paced super well. Every new location you arrive at has a little story arc to it that's like 2 hours long. Not exactly bite-sized, but I've been really enjoying sitting down every night and going on a little adventure with my video game friends, start to finish. It's satisfying.

i agree, if i wanted to play as goku i would just pick up one of the many dbz games out there. the character designs are one of the biggest reasons i have a copy of blue dragon but don't have a lot of motivation to play it

FF15 really dropped the ball on not having good "camping" moments where you characters chat over dinner at a rest stop or something. Like it's a game that desperately needs the skits from Tales or the dinner scenes from Grandia but aside from a few canned moments and the one good scene with Prompto you basically only ever rest because driving at night sucks. And whoever thought it was a good idea to have the empire randomly drop soldiers on you should've been booted from the team. Such a great little world that completely lacked any kind of actual world building.

Magus is cool. THere’s nothing cooler than a long haired mysterious magician dude who floats around and has a freakin scythe. Oh yeah, and? He uses Dark Magic, and didn’t even have to visit the game genie in the time debug room to learn it.

I beat FFXV around December 2016/Jan 2017 and got a Platinum and all the trophies. Those trophies now account for like half or less than half of all of the trophies it has now.
