I think there's a pattern here 1. People become aware of a hurricane 2. The hurricane gets upgraded to OHFUCK 3. Nothing gets destroyed right away so people get impatient and scream nothingburger 4. The hurricane runs its course and destroys poo poo, and the nothingburger people quietly gently caress off

The nothingburger crew also likes to pretend that forceasts were more apocalyptic than they were in order to justify nothingburgering over even a huge disaster. Like someone posted a couple pages back in the GBS thread "remember when all the models were showing a cat 5 landfall except for one that was a cat 4, lol" which was never a thing.

Florence broadened its wind field a shitload and lost some core wind speed as a result. Traded wind for integrated kinetic energy. hmm IKE what storm does that remind me of.....
