Assuming like every year there will be a HoF pack, NXT/Future Stars pack, and one other

NXT:
Ricochet
EC3
Hansen (maybe)
Rowe (maybe)
Candace LaRae

HoF:
Mark Henry
Bubba Ray Dudley
D-Von Dudley
J-E-Double F J-A-Double R-E-Double T
Hillbilly Jim

Bonus Stars
Mike Kanellis
Maria Kanellis
Bobby Lashley

Taking Ciampa and Cross off just to make them DLC this year would be a low move (but not entirely unsurprising)

Didn't they market All Stars horribly? It's a shame because the PS3 & 360 versions are really fun & goofy arcade games.

So at first glance the freebirds and von erichs at least are joining Ciampa on the discard pile from last year. Cool. Maybe they will cancel table matches next. Excited to see just how much these devs can undo their jobs for no reason.

I mean there was that one year with the engine transition where they removed virtually every gimmick mode.

The Bushwhackers, Natural Disasters, RVD and all variants of Mick Foley are gone too.

I’m a lot more lenient with these games than most people here but I can’t see any incentive to buy this game. The roster itself isn’t a concern as community creations is often superior, but there’s no new game modes in these things. They need to make stuff like War Games and triple threat tags and mixed tags for these games.

I was thinking more along the lines of WWE2k15. You had an extremely bare bones career mode that ended as soon as you won the WWE title, a pretty lackluster showcase mode (although at least it had one), no custom championships/arenas, probably the worst create a wrestler mode I've ever seen (You couldn't even make women wrestlers!) and a lot of missing match types.

That being said, I don't know if 2k18 was better than 2k15, because 2k18 was also horrendous.

Edit: I was getting the 2k itch and instead decided to learn King in Tekken 7 and it was a far more fun and rewarding experience.

When 2K15 came around, they eliminated Create-a-Story and Create-a-Finisher (and on the next gen systems, Create-a-Female Wrestler)

But most legends are only in the game for 2 cycles, then removed. There are exceptions of course, but next year (2K2020) I doubt The Rock-N-Roll Express will be in.

Still waiting for them to realize that if people are still buying these games in 2018 they can do pretty much anything and get money from it.
- Just re-release 2k14, are we sure they didn't already do this?
- Skylanders but with WWE action figures with a 60$ price tag and nothing unlocked out of the box, oh crap I gave them an idea.
- Anti-Iran propaganda video? The Saudis would pay big for this.
- Remake of Tecmo Pro Wrestling with the WWE roster, some people might like that better.
- Blurry footage from short-lived Hulk Hogan TNT vehicle "Trouble in Paradise?" He was put back into the Hall of Fame so ok.
- Remake of Zork? Sure.
- Literal crap in a case and an executable that deletes your hard drive if you buy it digitally? Only one way to find out.

Throwing this out there cause we were talking about TEW recently: remember to set your maximum size to your current level.

Maybe it's just me, but I think TEW advances you to the next size too quickly for you to maintain. I just saw it happen with the AI, they rose from cult to regional then a few months later got busted back down. This is going to hurt their morale and momentum a lot.

Personally I like capping my size, seeing if I can maintain high show ratings, then letting it move up.

It really sucks to put a lot of time into a save and get your momentum hit because you rose in size too quickly. Anyone else run into this?

I'm probably running into it now, but I'm still having fun. I finally decided to play a game in the default cornellverse (Or whatever it's called) instead of with a real world mod, and well, it's probably ended up more real world than any of my other games.

Created my own fed at regional size, made myself booker, doing great, except the guy who took over as owner is from this world's version of ECW, and changes my product to be completely hardcore garbage wrestling and softcore porn, sets all my goals based on this. Eventually, the TCW job opened up, I fled there, edited myself a hatred relationship with my old owner, and set out to destroy them.

It's going great, but I bumped up to national and I'm getting killed in the national battles by the companies that have actual stars, not just sub 25 year olds with sold ringwork. Woops.

It's the easiest way to figure out how to play the game because the database is designed to show off everything the game can do instead of it being made by people that either want to get as many workers in the database or they are biased toward workers that they have seen.

I think I'm enjoying it for two reasons.

#1 - exactly what you said, when I play real world mods it seems like either there are way too many awesome workers (and I want to sign them all) or almost everyone is comically terrible if you're trying a work rate based fed.

and #2 - I don't know who anyone is, so it's actually fun and surprising when I find a new character/talented worker that I want to sign, as opposed to starting every game thinking 'ok, I hope I can get steen/omega/styles/whoever'

I've been pushing Ernest Youngman, Spencer Spade, Aldous Blackfriar, Edd Stone, and Mighty Mo to the top at the moment. I don't know who any of them are, but in a weird way that's making me more attached to their careers than if they were real people.

I was probably also burnt out as I played my real life save up to like 2029 or something (took a good 6-8 month break from the game before starting this one)

I did not find it easy at all. I tried booking one show and bounced because I couldn't keep the wrestlers' names straight so I had to check the roster list every single time I booked a match.
In a company with like 10 workers.

I feel like the series peaked with EWR. It is just complicated enough to be satisfying, but not so complicated as to be overwhelming. Also, it has sooo much more personality.

Also it's janky as hell and old as balls so it can be a rough play especially if you use a modern save which slows it down quite a bit last I played.

Every time I have tried TEW, and I have tried several times in different years games, and I just spend way too long setting up and barely make it through my first show.

I used to have this problem, then I resolved to always run the first show before making any changes to the company or making new hires.

Also, for the 6 people that care: No show this week 'cuz I'm hiding from a hurricane. And I don't mean Shane Helms, though I imagine he is also hiding, because I believe we live in the same state.

Honestly I wish he'd just mashed the TEW match/angle booking into the EWR framework & called it a day. I loved EWR but I can't go back to the clunky-rear end show booking style (for those unfamiliar, you have to pick match/interview/angle, then the # of participants, then the match gimmick, then the participants, then whether or not it's for a title, then the result, then the actual finish, then the post-match shenanigans, and then the purpose of the match. You have to do every one of these steps for every match you book).
