I strongly believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental right, and as your Congresswoman, I will consistently vote for proposals that would allow more Georgians to get covered.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) made it possible for millions of Americans with preexisting conditions to enroll in life saving insurance coverage.

The White House wants to allow insurers to again discriminate against people with preexisting conditions, and I believe this is unacceptable. I want to ensure that Georgia never sees another day where women can be denied coverage because they were survivors of sexual assault or simply have given birth. Being a mother and a two-time breast cancer survivor myself, I fully understand the potential devastating effects of a full ACA repeal.

In contrast to Karen Handel, I support the ACA but believe that the law could be made better: adding a robust public option to increase competition in the ACA marketplace; increasing funding for community health centers; lowering the Medicare eligibility age to 55; and implementing policies that would lower the cost of prescribed medication.

I am also a staunch advocate for expanding Medicaid here in Georgia.

quote:

I refuse to turn my back on DACA recipients and will co-sponsor a clean DREAM Act in one of my first actions in Congress. I will also make comprehensive immigration reform a top priority, working with Democrats and Republicans alike to enact a solution to this contentious issue.

quote:

Israel is the homeland and refuge for millions of Jewish people who have fled anti-Semitism worldwide. I recognize the tremendous friendship that our country and the State of Israel have enjoyed over the past seven decades; our intelligence, military, and diplomatic relationships are essential for American interests abroad. In Congress, I will be a strong voice in support of the State of Israel.

I also support a common sense two state solution.

quote:

I am a staunch supporter of middle class and small business tax cuts, but I also believe that the Trump-Handel Tax Scam disproportionately benefits the ultra-wealthy and multinational corporations. Furthermore, I am concerned that the Trump-Handel Tax Scam will exacerbate wealth inequality in our country and burden our children with an insurmountable amount of debt.

Instead, I favor focusing on the middle class and working families. In addition to making middle class tax cuts permanent, I want to increase the minimum wage and making the federal earned income tax credit more generous. Growing up, I was taught that if you are able and willing to put in hard work in America, you should be able to earn a living wage. No one in Cobb, DeKalb, or Fulton Counties can comfortably live on $7.25 an hour.

quote:

When I am in Congress, I will work to fully fund K-12 public education, and to make community colleges, public universities, and vocational schools more affordable for working families.

quote:

“The stuff I read about is disgraceful — I don’t know how true all of it is,” Mr. Bloomberg said of the #MeToo movement. Raising Mr. Rose unprompted, he said: “We never had a complaint, whatsoever, and when I read some of the stuff, I was surprised, I will say. But I never saw anything and we have no record, we’ve checked very carefully.”

quote:

“It’s impossible to conceive that I could run as a Republican — things like choice, so many of the issues, I’m just way away from where the Republican Party is today,” Mr. Bloomberg said. “That’s not to say I’m with the Democratic Party on everything, but I don’t see how you could possibly run as a Republican. So if you ran, yeah, you’d have to run as a Democrat.”

quote:

Democratic leaders have so far embraced Mr. Bloomberg, giving him a regal reception aimed at ushering him securely into the party. At a climate conference in San Francisco, he stood beside Gov. Jerry Brown of California, a popular Democrat, to show support for the Paris climate agreement. And in an embrace laden with political symbolism, Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, introduced Mr. Bloomberg at two events as a herculean champion of the environment and a master of business and government.

“His name is synonymous with excellence,” Ms. Pelosi said, at a dinner atop the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. “And he knows how to get the job done.”

In a private conversation at the dinner, Mr. Bloomberg pressed Ms. Pelosi to govern the House in a bipartisan way if Democrats take power, he said — a message he also trumpeted publicly in Las Vegas as he pleaded with Democrats to pursue the center. “Candidates who listen to voters in the middle are more likely to reach across the aisle and to get things done,” Mr. Bloomberg argued there.

There’s no question if he won the primaries Trump would get a second term. Trump won because while he was a NY fancy boy he talked about how unfair the economy has gotten. And now the democrats want to run a billionaire that doesn’t have that rhetoric and wants to ban big gulps and guns. How do they think they’re going to win with these choices?

I have come to the conclusion that the Jennings are loathsome murdering scum who should be locked up in Supermax for the rest of their lives. It doesn't matter that Stan Beeman isn't perfect either (OK, he's a murderer as well but at least in was in response to Amendor being murdered). I was hoping that Paige would go right to the FBI and turn in her parents. I guess that's impractical as they would kidnap or kill Henry. She needs Witness Protection ASAP. I know there are a lot of shows that have flawed leads Dexter, Hannibal. The Shield, for example but those shows justify the behavior as all relative to even worse things being done by others. Here, it sure seems like the leads are causing and creating the evil. Really not sure I will be able to watch season 4 being pretty confident that these two mass murderers won't pay for their crimes.

J. Cheever Loophole

YES!!! I have been saying this for a long time. This show is insidious in the way it elicits sympathy for these Soviet spies, working ruthlessly against the United States at the denouement of the Cold War.

I hope Paige asks Elizabeth and Philip how many people they have murdered, and they give her an honest answer to that, too.

here is an idea for the series finale, the FBI finds out who Philip and Elizabeth really are and they go on the run and get killed along the way.
