Also loving shocked that a cowboys/giants game has something like 6 total and ends in 2 and a half hours. Whole lot of bad runs up the gut for no gain last night from both teams.

Saquon Barkley set a record for fewest yards (80 yds) with 14+ receptions. I was impressed, though, with just how loving hard he was to tackle. He shrugged off every first hit without much struggle.

All these competitive rule changes and fines they agreed to let the league be the decision maker with sole appeal process going to the commissioner. It went to court after one of Goddel's suspensions of players and the TLDR; of the judge's ruling was "yeah that's really stupid but it's a collective bargaining agreement and you agreed to it soooooooooooooooooooooo"

I don't even think there's an appeal process for these particular fines, even one that goes straight to Goodell. Everything's automatic and done, you pick up a roughing the passer call or unnecessary roughness of any sort and you're fined whatever the amount is this year (it's tied to the salary cap somehow iirc). Packers got hosed by the refs this week. I think Clay is a huge liability out on the field, but he really didn't do anything wrong with what he did to Cousins. The tie is actually a win for MN since the tiebreaking game is going to be in MN. drat. Rodgers looked like he could move well enough. Mahomes looks like he'll be the next superstar QB. I have no idea what is going on with Fitzpatrick.

Leon Einstein posted:I have no idea what is going on with Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is one of those weird guys kinda like Jeff Francouer was in baseball. For whatever reason when he goes to a new team he looks awesome for about 6 weeks. If everyone just traded him around the league maybe he'd be a hall of famer. Unfortunately he stays longer than that and soon reverts to his normally awful self. Having said that he does look more awesome than normal so far this time.
