Yeah, the flash exposure is perfect, I never would've thought to do that for my feeder, but I've just started taking pictures of it at all. Here's a few of my feeder pics:

Not one of my best hummingbird shots, but I liked the invisible wing effect a lot. Invisible Wings by B. B., on Flickr Trying to take some small flower shots at dusk. Dog (one of my chickens) was having none of that. As soon as I lay down, I'll have two on my back, pecking any exposed skin, and one in front of the camera. Dog (the chicken) Foot by B. How painful is it to have a couple of chickens on your back, pecking at your neck? That sounds rather uncomfortable to me.

Dog pecked a scab right off my knee and that hurt like hell. If they see blodd, theyll keep pecking it.

torgeaux posted:Dog (the chicken) Foot by B. B., on Flickr I like this a lot. For the first second or so, I didn't quite know what the scale was and I was looking for a little bird hiding among the flowers. I thought the chicken leg was a branch or something, so I didn't really look at it. Once I realized that it was a leg, I momentarily thought "huge chicken!"

I did not kneel when I saw this beauty flying around. Almost got my dream shot as it immediately dove about a foot above the water and then had a change of heart and flew back up. Argh, so close.

Anyone have any idea what it could be? The pictures are a bit rough—I think I was pretty much at my technical limits here... I’m in southwest Michigan, if that helps. e: folks elsewhere tell me it’s likely a red-tailed hawk. Some looking around on google seems to support that.
