Well it's a fuckton better than the Ambassador was.

I love the potoo,
and the potoo loves you.

Way back in the foggy mists when the Ambassador was introduced, it actually had a distinct niche of its own - it was a cruiser with a ltcom sci slot, something completely unique to it at the time (and its Klingon counterpart). No one was particularly sure that it was a good niche, but it was interesting and unique.

It's been a severe victim of the game's power creep.

The ship seems perfectly fine and anyone who likes it enough to obtain probably won't regret it, if they want to spend money or whatever.

That being said I'm very interested in what that trait does. From the description it might be a very potent buff. Maybe.

The Fed Neo-Ambassador does not have a native Lt.Com Tac slot which is a nice throwback to Cryptic releasing absurd dogshit Zen ships.

There's a bunch of newer folks playing the game now so I will repeat the One Truth™ DO NOT BUY A CRUISER WITHOUT A LT.COM TAC SLOT

LCDR Com universal is your extra tactical slot. There's no need for additional engineering beyond the CMDR slot or science beyond LCDR.

3 ensign tac slots is poo poo though. Can make it work using some non standard tactical skills. The stuff from lockbox skill whatsists that makes all your beams explode.

Kemocite laced space lasers. That was it.

Ultimately you aren't buying the T6 Ambassador to min max. You're buying it for Enterprise-C nostalgia. If you wanted to fly a zen store min max boat one would probably stick to the T6 Arbiter battle cruiser.

Oh balls, I looked at the Vor'cha specs when I said it was good.

Well at least the Vor'cha is good.

As a klangon-aligned romulan I am probably gonna fly the poo poo out of a neo-Vor'cha. I think it's best ship design from TNG (except maybe the Galor), prove me wrong.

I thought the Guardian was supposed to be the T6 Ambassador.

Anyways, I bought the Andorian science pilot ship a couple weeks ago...and it is almost an entirely new game now. Pilot ships are how all escorts should have been from the beginning.

I suspect the Guardian was the legally-distinct probert Ambassador and then they managed to get the real thing.

I liked my Negh'var. It didn't even handle like a beached whale. Mostly. With the right consoles.

I felt like getting my "bad Star Trek fanfic" on so I rolled a new character and have been playing through the missions, and I forgot how legitimately neat and atmospheric the mission where you go to the lower levels of Drozana station is.

Depends on the carrier. Most are fairly sci heavy and work best if built accordingly though yeah.

Talking about your actual talent tree, then probably not any more. The guide was written before a revamp that kind of hurt the best parts of the Science tree. These days pretty much everyone just builds around tactical and slots in science skills with whatever points they have left.

There's about to be a sweet spot where I have some free time so I'll see if I can update some of the guides before disco gets released.

I kinda hate to admit it, but the vor'ral is pretty great. Good boff layout, good console layout (on the fleet version anyway), it's super nimble by battlecruiser standards just like the vor'cha, it has the full specialist ability so it isn't immediately obsolete like the last few releases, and it has one of the best canon skin options.

Yeah it looks good, still waiting to finish the Breach event before I swap for anything that isn't a beamscort pilot ship though.

I saw one of those Romulan space fish pilot ships in the wild for the first time since... forever? It had a sparkly engine trail.

More ships need to fart space glitter. Seems like a good gimmick for a future rep tree engine or something like that.

If you're willing to grind the zen, get the Cardassian Intel bundle, it includes the Galor as well as the three t6 ships.

The best way to grind dil these days is Admiralty. Run Klank/Ferengi Tour of Duty as quickly and on as many characters as you can stand. Doing 10/10 grants 30k dil, and can be repeated infinitely.

And yea, the new Cardi Bundle and the 31st Century bundle are both aces. T6 Fleet level ships, unlocked across all characters. Cardi ships are intel based, 31C are temporal based. Potayto, potahto.

ETA: Cardi boffs are in the game now. When you unlock the PC race, you can buy white ones at the boff vendor. Supposedly there are some exceptionally rare recruitment doff missions out in the galaxy, too.

Yeah, you need to do their intro mission before you get allied with a faction and stuff though. It'll take you about 20 mins per char to plow through once you know where to go and don't have to read anything.

The Cardi and 31st C Packs are both cross-faction: Any character can claim them and use them immediately. And they're good in Admiralty. Go back up a couple posts for specifics on them. The starter packs are also good values, if they're on sale. Is there a Battlecruiser cross-faction bundle? For the Arbiter and whatever klank variant? You want the Emergency Weapon Cycle trait. That's one of the few practically required starship traits.

Beyond that, take your pick. Lots of people like the pilot escorts, but I'm lazy and like the cruiser beamboat spam.

31st Century bundle
Cardassian Intel bundle
T6 Cross-Faction Battlecruiser bundle (if you don't have it already)

Also, this prompted me to log in for the first time in a while and convert more dil to zen. Fyi: the sale does not apply to the new destroyer and support cruiser bundles.

Shame. I could have afforded either of those if they were on sale, but they're conveniently exempt from the sale.

Couldn't buy the 31st century bundle probably because I suck.

It was a level requirement, made a Gem character and was able to buy the pack.
