So 12 hours in, FB responded to my query. The best part is the "slur" i used was directed at a subset of genre fandom that is against the success of women and minorities in media. In comics they've been branded as ComicsGaters. I simply called them what they are. CHUDs. So FB has decided that CHUD is an actual race and thus a racist slur. It's mildly hilarious.

I gave up on Facebook's handling of anything making any sense after I reported an image shared by an outdoors company of a guy with a fishhook in his eye. It was graphic and as bad as the first few results on Google for "fishhook in eye". It was not what anyone would want to see without warning while scrolling through Facebook. Reported it a couple of times, they did nothing. I finally "disagreed" or whatever with their response and sent the rebuttal of "It's a man with a loving fishhook in his eyeball. How is that not against your community guidelines?" It's screaming into the void, but it feels nice.

Hey fellow car dorks, want to help me identify a mystery body panel? Found in the roof of the shed at my wife's old house. The old guy that used to live there liked old Mopars based on some engine bits I came across, and there were some door cards from a first gen Ford Ranger up there (what little the mice had left)... But I haven't been able to place this piece. It looks like a cowl panel, I just can't find from what. I would assume American, and something full-sized based on its length: '71 Corolla for scale   It's straight, light surface rust only, and all the mounting tabs are intact. I dunno, it's probably from something boring with my luck but I don't want to toss it in the scrap bin if it's something useful to someone?

Open box ones are going for $130, new in box are going for $160 (both ebay). Used in good condition is as low as $105 (swappa). e: gently caress it, I nabbed the $105 one from Swappa. Supposed to be in "good" condition with no display blemishes, just wear and tear on the phone body. It'll be in a case anyway. Sick of losing out on money every time my work phone decides to be a dick. The old one was hard to take off (I had to pry it off as there was no movement in the hydraulic tensioner left to give). So I should have got a 6pk1560 belt - that extra 5mm would have been helpful just for installation. But the fucker is on now and after a drive the belt deflection seems OK now. I think you're exactly right, the middle holes don't have mounting tabs, they're probably for air flow through the lower radiator.

Sorry, a bit of E/N coming, but I need to get it off my chest. I organised a little group holiday/birthday celebration for myself for this weekend, starting today, where a bunch of my oldest friends from the UK, Germany etc are flying in. I've been planning it literally for months and been looking forward to it like crazy, some of these people I haven't seen in nearly ten years. So of course my girlfriend waits until midnight last night to go absolutely loving berserk over a tiny thing and we are probably breaking up. She's been making sneery remarks about my "three day birthday party" for a couple of weeks and I can't help but feel the timing is really loving convenient. The thing that triggered it is that she flew in last night, while I was hanging out with a couple of early arrivals I havent seen in ages. She calls to say she landed, says she isnt feeling great and she wants to go home and to bed straight away, and then offers to take a taxi so I can stay with them. I dare to consider it for a moment before saying that no, I'll come get her and take her home, this is apparently yet another sign of my spectacular selfishness and she's sick of it. Am I a selfish dick? Does this seem rather well timed to anyone else? I'm so loving bummed out about this poo poo, she's torpedoed this whole thing.

I wouldn't worry too much about timing or intent or anything like that because you can't really know. All you can do is react to the person's actions as they directly impact you. In this case, she is not being reasonable about what she wants you to do, or you spending time with your friends for your birthday, and she doesn't seem to be communicating what she actually wants. She hasn't torpedoed anything, cut her out, move on, hang out with ya friends.
