For those of you who melded to 1676/1708/493 and could reliably HQ with minimal starting quality, have you found that the old 35 durability and 70 durability macros still work bumping up craftsmanship to 1706+? You should be ok? I am around 1720 craftsmanship and can still use the old 35 durability macro with just switching out a careful synthesis 2 with a 3 at the end. I can get away with using a careful synthesis 2 on my specialist with the extra 20 craftsmanship. I was consistently getting 98%+ quality with all normal quality mats.

ffxiv's "references" also never map 1 to 1 with the original and as such i consider them fine because its, by necessity, putting a new spin on old ideas, which is cool. Also the actual original ffxiv poo poo lets them neatly wrap older stuff into existing alongside that stuff. ffxiv is good.

I can't help but wonder if Alex as a whole would've been better received if Gordias wasn't such a hot pile and didn't serve as the only major content for the massive 3.0-3.1 gulf. I got so soured on it that I actually still haven't done the other two wings.

hit 62 on DRK recently and i have Questions is soul eater the only ability i have that builds blood gauge? is the only ability i currently have that spends it delirium? is carve and split better used with dark arts for damage or without to regain mp? where da fak am i supposed to find room for all these ding dang abilities on my hotbars

With all 10 cross class actions 3 bars is pretty much exactly enough on PLD on mouse & keyboard. With only 1 slot for potions and 0 macros Oh also delegating Holy Spirit and Royal Authority to a hidden shift bar  I'm getting a kick out of finally using feint, arm's length and goad on SAM at least.

Everything about Suzaku is amazing and makes byakko look like a wet fart. 11/10 boss on both modes, would definitely get flushed down that toilet again.

Currently in a group that is working on Suzaku Ex and we were all proud that we'd survived to the second color tiles part. So while we're all looking at the balls to determine where the safe spot will be, nearly all of us failed to notice that she was also casting Mesmerizing Melody.  e: even without a guide I just *knew* she would do that at some point and I fell for the troll move anyway!

It seems pretty clear at this point that the other Ascians just kind of faff about with no plan or action in mind other than "Hahaha Darkness!" and expect Elidibus to fix their gently caress-ups because that's sort of his job. They don't care that they could accidentally cause another World of Darkness, that's on Elidibus to prevent from happening.

Regarding the end of the Omega styoryline. Alpha setting off on his own adventure makes me really wish there was Companion glamour or some other expansion to that system that allowed replacing the Company Chocobo as your combat buddy. The Palico minion also made me think that would be a neat feature, but Alpha is my precious son and I desperately want to travel alongside him.

Salted Earth also gives blood. It's only 1 per tick but it applies to every enemy hit so in large groups it will add up fast.

I just said it in like 3 Discord servers, but I just got Empyreal Arrow and Wanderer's Minuet (which in turn unlocks Pitch Perfect) and holy poo poo, Bard just went from being fun to a strong "I just found my main" contender. I'm starting to get procs more often when I pop the songs, Pitch Perfect feels (and looks) amazing to fire off, and Empyrean being on a cooldown of its own means I can do something besides waiting for GCD so I can heavy shot. I know I still don't have the full kit, but I can feel the class coming together and I'm loving it.

For the first time in FFXIV I've got myself fully kitted out in endgame DoL/DoH gear (at least without VI overmelds) and mostly in combat gear - and days after the patch, no less. While there are some missteps in Stormblood, I like what they did with gathering & crafting.

So, does Varis actually secretly care about Zenos and he was just lying about not feeling anything? Because his reaction to Elidibus having Zenos' body is just shy of anger. I have to wonder how often he's on guard just so they don't take over his body or something.

For real Bard's current form might be the best thing to come out of Stormblood for me. Its personal damage isn't that high but its raid damage and party support actions make up for that dramatically and unlike ARR or HW the Bard stuff feels central to what you do rather than being an Archer who sometimes sings songs. I think that its entire toolset is one of the most cohesive of all the jobs (only Repelling Shot feels like chaff to me as there's nothing stopping you running to places ahead of time) and as you've noticed the Minuet phase of your rotation feels glorious (look forward to when you do your 70 opener while buffed with Spear, Battle Litany and Chain Strategem and Pitch Perfects flow like water). The only things I would change if I could would be to make Battle Voice affect the user (its just weird that it doesn't) and get rid of the damage type debuffs from the game so that you're not permanently hoping that your melee friends will suddenly really like DRG. My real concern is that BRD's been dramatically reworked for both expansions and I'm really hoping that they don't do that again for 5.0 and instead just enhance what's already there.
