i got past medium difficulty without too much trouble. i now need to place 1st on hard difficulty and the sotenbori cup (which i'm saving my last peerless tile for).

hard mode has been aggravating. i think ive won 1 hand out of 20.

Between Yakuza 5's Shinada story and Yakuza 6's whole baseball deal, I'm pretty convinced that Nagoshi could straight-up make a Japanese baseball game in the Yakuza game universe and it'd work. Maybe Sony could get their crack MLB The Show team with them and they could make a campaign mode for it?

In Yakuza 0 is there anyway to do effective crowd control with Kiryu? Majima I've got it down but some of Kiryu's fights with a lot of enemies have been really frustrating.

Is there a substory finder for Y0? I wanna try and get as much of it done as possible before I move on with the story

Post above me, Beast mode usually does the trick when dealing with crowds of enemies

Trouble Finder is the thing. Kiryu's requires beating the substory you get after beating Electronics King, while Majima's requires simply befriending the Komian chef.

the key to that mission is that the 2nd and 3rd amons only appear after a predetermined number of kills. ergo, just run like hell and tackle each boss before anyone else. the postgame gun from kamiyama is your best friend.

Oh that. I think it's in reference to him and Rikiya wrestling for the kids at Sunflower/Morning Glory.

Also would it be fine if I sorta skipped Kiwami 1 in favor of Kiwami 2 due to virtue of understanding the major poo poo and new game/new engine/fun game poo poo

Oh that. I know the twist of flashbacks. And its a shirtless fight vs Nishikiyama-kun, who is sick of knowing he got hosed over again again again.

Also that is probably the gist of Majima Everywhere: To get as many fights vs Majima in everyday areas.

the Yakuza series really loves baseball despite it consistently being one of the absolute worst minigames(outside of 5 which had a ton of mechanics revolving around it because of shinada)

Everyone should play DUKE games.

:dukedog:
I think it's just because of how the building is located on the map where not a lot of there stuff actually happens and because batting cages don't really trend out of style so it's not like they need some cutscene or sub story work of "OH WOW! THE HOTTEST NEW SENSATION!" or "OH NO! CAN KIRYU SAVE THE BATTING CAGES?" making it a no-brainer to reuse as much as possible.

like Pants said, Beast mode is all about dealing a ton of damage over a wide area (bikes are your friend), but honestly even with Beast Mode I'm finding returning back to Kiryu after being with Majima after so long has been a pain in the rear end

I've been playing on hard this entire time and I felt like I had a good challenge with Majima but these Dojima goons in Kiryu's Chapter 9/10 man, gently caress offffffffff with this poo poo sometimes, just constantly spamming stuns and poo poo before I'm even able to get up and evade

and it's taking much longer to get going with earning money in real estate than the cabaret business so right now I just do a cycle of start a collection, harass mr. shakedown\do a substory, go back to the office, start a collection, harass mr shakedown, etc etc and even with office staff with some good ratings I feel like it's taking loving forever to get a decent chunk of money to dump into some upgrades

I'm still having a blast but some of these fights where you have like five guys with blade weapons, a few with stun guns, and other poo poo, jesus christ it gets annoying even when spamming weapons of your own

"I'M DRAGGIN' YA ALL TO HELL WITH ME! RAAAAARGH!"

Seconds later while spinning on his head: "YAHOOO!"
