This happened to me once. Not the mud puddle part, but a horse I was riding deciding that it was a good time to lie down and roll in the dirt. I was so shaken afterwards that I went up and leaned against a fence and touched it with my hand to steady myself, but it was an electric fence so my legs gave out. It was a very traumatizing day for preteen me. This has been my personal schadenfreude contribution.

Back in like 4th grade we had an overnight trip to some summer camp that rented to schools when it wasn't camp season. They had horses so on one of the days we were all riding and my horse jerked his head forward and pulled something in my arm or shoulder which hurt for the whole rest of the trip. I wasn't taken to see anyone to look at it or anything. They just told me I can sit out the rest of the activity.

I think Europeans are way more squeamish about violent images than in the US. Kind of makes sense to me but it's definitely weird IMO to get a psych eval for posting dead bodies on social media. I would definitely kick her off Twitter though.

The way I understood it is that the judge is, at least in theory, looking for mitigating factors because she was so cavalier about doing a crime in public. But yeah, looks weird as heck.

Not an expert on French law and whatnot. But as far I understood it, for this type of cases it's relatively standard for the defendant to undergo a psych eval. Just to get the "Are they posting this stuff because they're legit crazy, or do they have some agenda?"-question out of the way. If she is found guilty, that would presumably influence the sentencing.

Also the eu member states often have laws against distributing material produced by terrorists.
