Some of their games had really good stories and characters, and some were awful. I just played the Batman ones earlier this year because of good word of mouth and that was my plan for the future. So I'm not glad they're dead. :(

They massively overexpanded. They were just juggling a half dozen series at one point, and I'm guessing they paid a fair bit of money for those licenses. I want to say the Game of Thrones one was a big failure. I remember Giant Bomb had some story about them buying a new building for their new staff after having just moved, and it wasn't too long after that the layoff story came out. I played the first Batman one on PS4 and it was impressive how badly it ran for how ugly it was.

Oh ok was he part of Telltale or something? That makes more sense then. I thought it was just some dude going all "how dare they besmirch Telltale I can't listen to this!!!" lol. I don't know who's reading this thread!

Also pretty sure people are responding to "a studio I liked/disliked/didn't care about is closing", not "people lost jobs". That's the lamest way to try and generate sympathy and you could apply it almost anything. Jobs are lost when a military occupation ends. Jobs are lost when a Payday Loans operation closes.

Best advice I was ever given?

"Ticker, you'll be a lot happier once you stop caring about the opinions of a culture that is beneath you."

I learned my worth, learned the places and people that matter.

Opened my eyes.
Tales from the Borderlands was fantastic and I hope everyone who worked on that get to join another place and make more funny games.

Shame about everything else, but TellTale has clearly been stumbling for a long while, this was somewhat expected.
