I've found that I get more commendations as healer if I do bad, but not too bad. If people come close to dying a lot they must just sorta assume things were difficult and I was trying hard.

The answer to this is to not press any buttons when you get back up. You have something ridiculous like six seconds of invulnerability after being raised, but only if you don�t take any actions (moving around is fine.) If you still die to raid AoE after six seconds, just stay down after being rezzed and save your repair money.

I also prioritize other people that can raise or replenish mp, so sorry melee guys, you're last unless I get seriously fed up with everyone else.

I sometimes do this, because almost dying a lot usually means I got hit with an unnecessary amount of damage, so it's sort of an apology for messing up so much and making them click healing buttons.

As a DRG, I get annoyed when I get raised before a RDM or healer, unless they've been particularly lovely. Keep it up.

I think you got the wrong interpretation/tone from my post. My tank friend says he liked O10, I'm not saying that the spin/flip mechanic is extra difficult for DPS, just that it's awful to try to react to. Yes, even when you know if it's Crimson (X/+) or Azure (in/out) once the first movement happens.

The rest of the fight sucks too. Especially trying to land positionals while dealing with everything else.

The only hard parts of O10S are the tank mechanics and Hot Tail. There's no real DPS specific mechanic other than the usual mechanic of learning to dance around the boss's AoEs and hit them good.

Any fight that has Ahk Morn while you have to dance around AoE's owns because it's the only time I actually feel pressure as a healer.

That would be incredibly stupid for them to do as a long-term thing. I suppose it is just barely possible that they might have BLU unlock in like, 4.65 or something, and in order to get at it early you have to do Eureka, but that seems like it would piss a hell of a lot of people off for no particular reason.

Now if they made Eureka skip potions...

Remember some attacks deal Darkness Type damage which go through the raise invuln (and everything else) and the list of these attacks is readily available to the players at 'gently caress you'.

Yeah, I think I just discovered that the giant fists in O11 are darkness type. I got rezzed into the cross path, thought I would be cute and nosell them both with rez immunity, nope, got double-fisted for 999999 damage twice.
