KXAN estimated 15-20k, which seems way more likely. It didn't feel like they stuffed the same number of people as ACL into the much smaller Auditorium Shores space. Instead it felt about as crowded as the 20K when I saw Obama there in 2007 or at Fun Fun Fun Fest. Great night though and a lot of enthusiasm! Edit: well this article says 55k so ¯\_(ツ)_/ ¯. https://www.elpasotimes.com/story/news/2018/09/29/beto-willie-nelson-fans-austin-turn-out-texas-rally-orourke-senate/1475214002/ Water Resistant fucked around with this message at 21:50 on Sep 30, 2018 |

Probably by design/request. The last thing Beto needs is a reason for Cruz to nationalize the race so it isn't about how much he sucks.

As entertaining as stories like these are (and as much as Cruz deserves it), it bothers me a bit that our present political climate is such that stories about candidates from their high school/college days are now considered fair game in an election. I think everybody has embarassing stuff from that period of their lives that they’d prefer the public not know about. I mean, if YOU were running for office, would you want a bunch of your ex-classmates telling the whole country what a weird loser goon you were in high school?

Nah, those stories are useful because how you respond to it, whether or not you can display an understanding of what is ACTUALLY wrong about The Old Story, is incredibly revealing as to your character. I mean, look at how Trump's apology for pussygate was framed in terms that placed much more emphasis on uttering the word "pussy" than on fondling women without their consent.
