Still not the lowest I've seen though. Might have been posted in the dark ages of this thread but there was some lunatic who flew a jet trainer low enough that if he'd gotten closer to the dude with the camera on the ground he would have sliced the dude at the ankles.

So, when the X-1 was built, did America have a supersonic wind tunnel, or were they all ".50 cal bullets are stable at supersonic speeds, let's wing this mother"

(With a kludge, the 8 footer was just barely supersonic) The initial design idea was taken from the .50 cal. bullet, though.

Got to fly upstairs on a 747. One of my kid dreams fullfilled. LH business class in general was quite good, general service overall was excellent, but I fear I'll never be able to sleep on an aircraft. I'm a stomach sleeper and a full flat seat just doesn't work for me. Maybe if I try a true bed in some crazy first class which I don't think will ever happen. Also, both flights Lufthansa seems to like higher than normal cabin temps. Other than olds which always seem to be cold even if they were sleeping on lava, why would anyone do that?

Went downstairs once to use the head and it was noticeably noisier. Not sure why anyone would prefer the downstairs cabin over upstairs unless they wanted aisle access as there are more aisle seats.
