The Balzac V had the same number of lift jets, but only one forward engine.

No, but it was just after my future son-in-law sang "Delilah".

Yes, the X-1 was tested in 9-inch and 8 foot supersonic wind tunnels. (With a kludge, the 8 footer was just barely supersonic) The initial design idea was taken from the .50 cal. bullet, though.

Got to fly upstairs on a 747. One of my kid dreams fullfilled.

LH business class in general was quite good, general service overall was excellent, but I fear I'll never be able to sleep on an aircraft. I'm a stomach sleeper and a full flat seat just doesn't work for me. Maybe if I try a true bed in some crazy first class which I don't think will ever happen.

Also, both flights Lufthansa seems to like higher than normal cabin temps. Other than olds which always seem to be cold even if they were sleeping on lava, why would anyone do that?

I find that flight crews in general like cabin temps warmer than is comfortable for me.

I also vacation to Alaska in February and March, so I may not be a reliable source. :v:

The 359 was uncomfortably warm too though :(

744 fairly quiet upstairs, comparable, but maybe not quite as good as the basically brand new airbus. Went downstairs once to use the head and it was noticeably noisier. Not sure why anyone would prefer the downstairs cabin over upstairs unless they wanted aisle access as there are more aisle seats.

I got to fly the 748 Korean Air in their prestige class (upstairs) lay flat bed and it was by far the best business class experience I've ever had.
