Nah I mean this is always how it works. For every bit of software out there, there's always a better third party thing. Even with actual video game companies.

And the app isn't actually central to anything but revealing point values, which are then immediately taken by the actual good builders and made available. It's a non-issue.

So, I've been trying this list out so far:

(70) Darth Vader
(12) Supernatural Reflexes
(8) Stealth Device
(3) Fire-Control System
Points 93

(47) Captain Feroph
(5) Director Krennic
(3) ISB Slicer
(4) Stealth Device
(1) Ruthless
Points 60

(23) Academy Pilot
Points 23

Total points: 199

And it's mostly worked, but the Reaper kind of feels... anemic. Not really doing a whole lot for me. What would be a good replacement?

On another note, I'm loving that TIE fighters feel useful again.

I vaguely remember job postings for mobile devs. If I had to guess, they probably are paying lowball prices to a web dev that made a react native app once, and well here we are.

When the app launched it was a flaming pile of cat poo poo that barely worked and one of the most glaring things (that would have been caught if someone looked at the app for 4 seconds before launching) was the fact that there were A LOT of HTML tags like the <italics> one in the gif. There were even mis-spelled tags. It was programming 101 amateur hour stuff.

Wedge is probably one of the best counters to Luke right now I think. He fires first, which forces Luke to use his force on the defence before he attacks and he denys defence dice give Luke nothing to mod.

wait, i just found the completely terrible wording and answer in the FAQ

Q: Can ships that only use turret or 180 attacks use effects that
require the ship to perform a V attack? (i.e. Fearless,

A: No. Note the differences between the requirement of Fearless:
“While you perform a V primary attack…”
and Punishing One:
“While you perform a primary attack, if the defender is in your V…”
A V attack uses the V icon above the attack value as shown on its ship
card. This is different from an attack that is performed against a ship in
it’s V.

I can see the mental gymnastics going on here, but the whole routine is loving stupid.

'A primary attack against a target in your V' and 'a V primary attack' are not the same thing but they REALLY, REALLY should have used different symbols.

Essentially, I'm assuming they put it out to tender to a number of software houses and picked the lowest bidder, or they used the same software house they did for their other apps.

Either way they made the wrooooooooooooong choice.

It's not really surprising; they're tuned down offence, but most ships defences are about the same and quite a lot have got extra hull.

Dice accuracy going down combined with actually needing to set up arcs and people running efficient generics means poo poo will die it'll just die a lot slower.

I’ve had the opposite experience. My TIEs feel way more fragile, and the games seem a bit shorter. I’m also far out of practice (jumped into 2.0 after having not played since May :v: ), so that’s probably got something to do with it too.

I spend a lot of time dodging arcs and taking unmodified shots probably which slows down the game the most for me. The best defence is not letting anyone shoot at you and green dice only exist to break your heart.

I've flown against a couple tie swarms and ties just die so drat quick. Tie swarms needing to keep close for Howlrunner to work just makes it a slow blob that's easy to flank. I haven't faced any of the really good Aussie tie swarm players yet so I'm sure I'll be eating my words soon.

Green dice are liars, do not trust them.

The trick with any swarm is that "needing to keep close for Howlrunner to work" isn't true. It wasn't true in early 1e either. Howlrunner makes them disgusting, but they are perfectly serviceable against most things without her. Good swarms aren't always all in formation.

See also the Gold squadron stream, with a Jonus barrage bomber list, where they all stayed tightly together, and Boba simply rammed into the front of them all, denying barrage shots and rerolls from Jonus and getting infinite rerolls and his pick of target. Better move would have been sending one bomber out to block and lose rerolls/shots, keep the rest back to maintain better firepower and limit Boba to one reroll. Still rough, but a hell of a lot better than the basically nothing the bombers accomplished instead.

Better to have some rerolls than none at all.

Yeah, the hardest part of playing a swarm is knowing when to break the formation. If you do it too soon, or too late, or not at all, a good player is going to be able to swing around your tight little blob.

I also designed some tokens for 2.0 and got some samples laser cut. They arrived today so I painted them up although I think the green tokens are a touch too light, not quite green enough.

You can see in the second image the ID marker on the Fang Fighter, I've also got arc indicators for turrets ships etc but I didn't get around to finishing painting them yet so no photos yet. I'm hoping to get off my rear end and do a production run of these to sell so let me know what you think.

These look real nice dude. I could see going a slightly darker green like you mentioned, but at least in the photos I think it looks fine as is. Definitely put something up here if you go into production, I'd probably buy a set. Especially the numbers, since a lot of the medium slot bases don't fit the cardboard numbers right.

Thanks! I looked around for a set of 3rd party tokens but everything was either a little bit too ugly or just way too busy so I decided to make my own. I tried to keep them as minimal as possible while also staying true to the original design to make sure they were intuitively readable.

Ideally I'd like the green to just be a touch darker, but i'm nit-picking really.
