As long as they play at the bottom of the show, he will be drunk and directionless

If they would just commit to making DnD an actual guaranteed segment instead of only getting to it when Dan hasn't used too much time justifying some bullshit, maybe he'd have some semblance of what's going on in the game. Because this last campaign has been pretty fun overall (the demon summoning thing at the end of it seemed sudden/random but I dunno), they just need to do it regularly enough that there's an actual chance of remembering anything.

Like, if you're gonna drink a bunch and play DnD one night, next week you may have some issues remembering what happened. Fine. If you drink a bunch, play DnD, then pick it up again three weeks later, you're loving lucky if you remember ANY of what happened.

Aside from working around Jeff's tours and such, which is perfectly reasonable, I really think they'd benefit from just trying to keep DnD on as consistent a schedule as they can. That's literally the challenge for any tabletop group, and I guarantee a lot of tabletop groups also add drinking on top of that and still remember enough to carry on next week. Take notes and try to keep playing. That's literally all Dan needs to do and I think the segment remains consistent enough to enjoy it.

Also it's annoying/funny to hear Dan react to anyone talking about Elon Musk. Slightly more annoying because it's one (kinda sorta?) rich person adoring another rich person. Sometimes it seems like Dan wants really hard to maintain some sort of working class/punk credibility or something, but then literally everything else he does and says goes against that.

I really wouldn't hate if Harmontown basically came to a close and then they just become a D&D podcast.

A D&D podcast that has like a pre game 15 min chat sometimes would be an improvement.

Before we engage we should hang back and study their tactics.
I've said it before but I would be much happier if they broke with show into two shows. 1 show that has Dan whinging and awkwardly interviwing people and 1 show that is D&D and/or long form improv with Jeff and Rob.

I think Harmonquest prevents an all D&D podcast, though, especially since it just got picked up for season 3.

Hasn't Dan already made entirely separate podcasts for whining and awkwardly interviewing people though? But it still happens on Harmontown. I think that bringing a random person up on stage and telling them over and over again that he's a bad interviewer is just an intrinsic part of who he is.

Big ol' smile.
This week's episode includes the debut of another classic Harmontown character: Polyamorous Paul.

But that's as far as I've listened, so maybe the rest of the episode is terrible.

Paul's kind of a jerk.

Didn't love the rest of the show, although I totally understand the urge to call a French person "Frenchie". It's a great nickname.

yeah I’m not sure why someone would want to back to Dan just screaming on stage about rich guy “problems” to complete silence. The audience can be awkward and terrible but the show was pretty horrible without it.

I enjoyed this episode a lot  Jimmy was cool, Jean-Charles was cool, American Spencer was on point. It did get a little messy when they brought up even more people, but not due to anything specific to Nova or Australian Guy, just too many people on stage. Still a hell of a lot better than the 2 previous episodes.

Schrab and Jeff do need to come back though.

It's fine. Some segments work better than others.

Shout random names off the top of your head isn't a good segment.

Alternate lore for old tropes and talking through audience problems are.

How many listeners does Harmontown have anyway? I feel like Jeff's biggest "celebrity pull" is actually from the podcast, and it seems like it has a fair amount of listeners in the UK, maybe that's who they're advertising for.

She speaks a mile a minute without actually saying anything. I can't tell if she's anxious or excited or if it's just how she is, but it bugged me this last time she was on because she trampled over a bunch of other people's jokes. She does seem nice though.
