GET INTO DA CHOPPA posted:For my next project, I'm planning a Harlequins army. For anti tank, I'm thinking 3 Soaring Spite starweavers filled with Fusion Pistols, while my anti horde will be 3 Frozen Stars starweavers filled with close combat troupes. I'm not sure on the maths just yet, but you might want to compare the point cost of 3 Starweavers with 18 Players (633 points) to an equivalent points cost of Haywire Skyweavers (which seems to be 14) So then it's basically a tossup between: Fusion: 18 R6 S8 AP-4 D6 Damage shots plus the 6 Shuriken Cannons Haywire: 14D6 R24 S4 AP-1 D1 shots, but wounds of 4+ cause a mortal wound to vehicles and 6s cause D3 mortal wounds, and then the Star Bolas Grenade for each squad.

Can an Engiseer (keyword TECH-PRIEST) on a Forgeshrine do the +3 wounds thing on an Imperial Knight (keyword QUESTOR IMPERIALIS), even though he wouldn't be able to heal it normally (since it lacks QUESTOR MECHANICUS)? Also, same question for a Dominus or a Datasmith (who can't heal knights normally)?

The keywords for the forgeshrine are IMPERIAL KNIGHTS & VEHICLE, not QUESTOR IMPERIALIS, so it would work on any friendly knight. A Dominus and Datasmith (and Cawl) all have the TECH-PRIEST keyword so they're good too. xtothez fucked around with this message at 10:28 on Oct 10, 2018 |

After a couple Kill team games with unpainted minis I finally settled on a scheme and painted my first mini. Doesn't really compare to the rest of what is on display in the thread but I figured I would post it anyway. I tried my best to thin my paints but in the end it still looks a tad thick. Also C&C always welcome.

KT is still 40kish enough that I like it, and it's evolving, just wanting more tactical flexibility. KT is way easier to find partners for in my area, though, and as long as they don't Necromunda it with 20 bajillion supplements but manage to keep support (add missing troop types for Drukhari, maybe a couple elites, etc) it's gonna be great.

Speaking of Orks, I'm finally building some boyz I bought years ago thanks to the fact that some friends joined me in the moneyhole. I was reading up on some strategies, everyone seems pretty down on shootas, and that you're better off bringing more choppas, but if you're pretty much guaranteed to lose a boy or two as you advance, would the extra shots help, especially once DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA becomes a special rule?

Can anyone recommend a good 40K and AOS compatible command terminal thing? I've seen some decent ones searching around the internets, but curious what folks are using, if any. Since I only get to play a couple times a month at most, I tend to stay forever rusty on rules and book keeping, and any tools to help me stay organized would be handy. I like the ones that have built in dials or counters, or even the ones with marked spots for dice counters for command points, turn number, etc. Thanks!

Dear GW a killteam article that mentions orks is not an article that has anything to do with either the codex or speedfreeks. many ork players who have patiently waited for the new models and the new codex are not going to consider this an "orktober" article. instead this is an article that covers some game system completely unrelated. since your team has so much trouble trying to think of articles for "orktober" then here are some ideas. -x6 articles, each about an ork clan. its overview, its trait, a unique stratagem, a clan warlord trait -article showing off the new squig buggy. it's about time you showed that off. -x6 articles about each of the new ork vehicles, a little lore, but more importantly how they play on the table top -2-3 articles about how you've changed how the new codex works with our existing models. maybe have the frontline gaming guys write some cool testimonials. doing articles about rules will give us the chance to get games in this month by testing out our own previews. This will help us get more excited -speedfreeks rule preview -lore article about what's happening in the octarius war and what ghaz has been up to -lore article that describes how the orks are dealing with fighting demons on armageddon -maybe a lore article that covers some of the ork stuff on vigilus -x2 days, each dedicated to announcing the preorders of speedfreaks and codex -x2 days, each for the actual release of speedfreeks and the codex i have listed 23 article ideas, there are 21 days left in the month. feel free to borrow from me. we are fine if you have non ork related articles and non codex/speedfreaks related releases coming out at the same time as our articles. we just want you to keep your promise of... "To celebrate the return of everyone’s favourite green-skinned warmongering, barbaric xenos this Orktober, we’ve got an entire month’s worth of exciting content for you to help get you in the mood for Waaagh!" "Orktober is going to be awesome, so don’t forget to check back each day to see what news and articles we have for you."

I've been posting updates on these guys in the discord, but haven't updated in a while in the thread. My knight army is coming together nicely. As of right now, it's 1 Valiant, 1 Crusader and a Knight Gallant. Each Knight will have it's own small retinue. The Gallant, Lady Cambria the Extolled, will have a small group of fanatics that follow her around, inspired by her ferocity and merciless nature in the face of the enemy. These will be 10 House Escher gangers that'll stand in for a Guard squad. The gangers I had to order. The Crusader, Sir Frederick the Bellicose, has a retinue of normal guard from his planetary militia. The Valiant, The Sun King, High King of the Crusade has a ton of followers. 10 Cawdor models to be used as infantry, 2 armiger helverins and 2 witches (psykers). I just used empire battle wizards for these. and a family shot of everything so far. I'll post some more photos as I complete stuff.

Pierson posted:Is that due to legitimate growth though or one of the no-doubt-thousands of dodgy financial shenanigans you can get up to with share prices. Lets go ahead and crunch the numbers. As of 2018-10-10, Games Workshop Group PLC has 32.35 million shares trading at 3,315 = a market cap of ~1.15 billion (all figures UK pounds). There revenues in recent years are: 2018: 219,868,000 2017: 158,114,000 2016: 118,069,000 Their profits in recent years are: 2018: 74,595,000 2017: 38,323,000 2016: 16,860,000 What's a reasonable valuation for a company with 74,595,000 in revenue? Price / earnings (P/E) ratio is a commonly used measure. GW's P/E is 19.22. Which is a pretty typical ratio for banks. For a 40 year old company experiencing insane growth (quadrupling profits and doubling revenue over two years) without changing its business model at increased risk, that's actually quite good. The hot take: the financial markets think that GW's stock was significantly undervalued, and the wild growth over the past two years is a correction to typical trends and not a sign of things to come. Which is in line with the view from inside the tabletop world: GW was a slumbering giant because it had terrible leadership. Dropping a traditional finance guy in as CEO meant there were lots of no-brainer changes available to be made and things greatly improved. But it's still a niche product. It'll grow over time, but it's ludicrous to expect the recent explosive growth to continue. So, no finance BS (unless there's an accounting irregularity). It would have been a great buy two years ago, now it's middle of the road.

Took a break for a bit, came back and it looks like kill team has taken over locally. Trying to figure out what possible teams I can make with models on hand, and necrons seem like my best bet. From my pretty limited read of the rules and watching a few games, Warriors seems fairly meh for the cost. Thinking about a kill team of: 3x Immortal 2x Deathmark 1x Flayed One 1x Warrior All I'd have to do is convert some warriors with the leftover deathmark bits and figure out a flayed one. Reserves will just be warriors I guess. Is that... awful?
