Dreaming of Shock Diamonds

Just got back from the second year of Jaguar Canada's "The Art of Performance Tour". I was lucky enough to witness an F-Pace S tripod on acceleration twice. Say what you want about that SUV but drat....kudos to Jag for building something that large that can pull that off. They also sound incredible with the supercharged 3 litre at full song.

There's still that dealer in Calgary that has a French racing blue XFRS for under $40k...
Then there are all those CarMax dealers that have $30k F-Types.

gently caress the system.

Failure to stop at a stop sign is $428 + $60 victims of crime levy here- so AU$488, or CA$452, plus 3 demerit points.

Fermented Tinal posted:

I took a lesser charge of failure to obey a sign for $200 and 2 points because I realized that this particular court did not give a gently caress and I didn't want to end up with my original charge of 34 over + 4 points and to have to make a third or possibly fourth trip and miss even more work.

THAT would net you a AU$920 fine, $60 levy and SEVEN demerit points. Dont complain too hard about your systems, theyre certainly not the worst out there. Plus we dont have the "You get fined for one or the other offence"- here in South Aus you'd get nailed for both of them- so $1468 fine and 10 demerit points. You only get 12 points and then they take your license away for 3 months. But in the eastern states like NSW they have double demerit point periods like long weekends, so if you picked the wrong weekend to run a stop sign while speeding, that would get you 20 demerit points, and you'll loose your license for 5 months.

Had a gnawing concern in the back of my mind how we’ve been in our house over five years now and I never changed or checked the anode rod in our water heater so I grabbed one on my way home and swapped it after dinner.
First time doing that ever. It wasn’t too difficult and the rod wasn’t in horrible shape. Maybe 60% of life still left.

Feels good to have it done though.

Water heaters have an anode rod? Is that electric only or even gas? My gas heater is approaching if not past 10 years old.

The dude wanted me to put 300$ on the sale price and I was like hell no I need this title filled out properly so I can keep a photo copy for 18 months and it came out that he’s not allowed to own cars in Michigan so I put his buddy on the title and gave him a bill of sale

I told him I was an independent contractor and the irs audits the gently caress out of us so pony up and pay the taxes or drive the three hours back to your place

(Note: I am not an IC but I ain’t about to get ducked because some idiot with a DUI likes dodging taxes and I gave it to him for 400$ less than asking so get owned bitch)

I didn't fail to stop at a stop sign though. The failure to obey sign charge is for the speed limit sign not a stop sign. The charge is instead of the speeding charge.

I also would've plead guilty without even bothering with any of this nonsense if I had been charged with the speed I'd actually been going.

Looks like a Marlin kit, probably mid-80s based on the spec, I think later ones are Sierra based. About the best thing you could do with a Marina!

YES! Light cars are the best

Dad rolls into town tomorrow afternoon, I'll be spending today and half the day tomorrow cleaning/organizing/prepping for him. Finally wiring the garage so it isn't a dark, outlet-less dungeon. Have nine 4ft dual LED lights going in per side and outlets every 6 feet.

Finn is up to 90lb at 8 months old. He's the goofiest pup I've met and somehow has no interest in getting into things. Temps dropped 20 degrees here this week and he's loving the cooler weather. He's ready for Halloween

:colbert:

Ugh, my mid back back has been killing me when I sleep for the last 3 months and it's driving me up the wall. As the day goes on and I move around it feels better, can still do my martial arts stuff, but after laying in bed sleeping for 4+ hours it starts to ache so much it wakes me up. Which sucks because starting to get up at 3AM almost every day is not a fun way to start a day... even if I can doze off and on after that, but not sleep soundly.

At first I thought it might have something to do with my vehicle seat (because I drive so much), but being on holidays and not driving for 3 weeks changed nothing. I also thought it might be the mattress but same, 3 weeks on holidays in different hotel rooms and cruise ship beds, no difference. I also try to sleep in the spare bed in our house and doesn't seem to make a difference.

Have a doctor appointment Monday AM, hopefully they can see if there is something wrong... maybe get referred to a good physiotherapist? Luckily I have a good friend that is an RMT that can probably help once I get some sort of idea what's going on. Otherwise, I might have to try and see if I can learn to sleep on my back as that seems to relieve the discomfort in bed when it is sore... as does bringing my legs right up (basically taking the curve out of my back) but being a 40+ year stomach sleeper, that's going to be a drat tough habit to change.

Anyone else have something like this creep up on them as they got older with no underlying event (IE:Injury) causing it?
