pubic works project posted:Someone released a set image of the new Spidey suit. I can never find an image of it or remember what issue but when it comes to alternate designs there's always one that comes to mind with white spiders and it was from an issue drawn by JRjr. In the 90s I believe. Peter is thinking of a bunch of different designs, some humourously terrible, but one that looked legit was red and black, more angular on the torso kinda like the unused Alex Ross design for the first Raimi movie, and with a large white (but not symbiote-styled) spider overlayed on the chest. Dunno what the back was supposed to look like.

A list that puts Gambit in the top 25 superheroes ever surely has to be bait. Aphrodite posted:Deadpool's history is a lot more bad than good and the movies are okay. The only comics characters with more good than bad are the ones that are relatively new like Kamala. And the movies are both very good.

One director who I'm surprised hasn't made any superhero movies (or, as far as we know, been asked to make any Star Wars movies for that matter) is Gore Verbinski.

He'd probably insist on blowing up a planet for a Superman film.

It's more MCU than anything; would've thought he'd be the sort of guy Disney would've put on Avengers after buying Marvel after how well all those Pirates movies did.

I remember someone made a post in this thread wherein they wanted to the Infinity Gauntlet to be used to summon Diamond Dallas Page to do the Diamond Cutter on Thanos because it has never been kicked out of on a clean attempt, but I can't seem to find it. Could anyone help me with that? Also I did not know the Eternals were going to be made into a movie?

Chill Penguin posted:Whoever said a Michael Bay Gambit movie is a bad idea is hosed in the head. It opens with gambit fighting some people and throwing cards and whatnot. Then william stryker comes and says he's making a new elite marine division full of mutants to fight against the morlocks. The rest of the movie has Gambit never fight with a bo staff and cards, but with an M16 and call down airstrikes on the morlocks. Rogue is in it but her mutant power has been changed so that she can make her clothes invisible to distract people.

Some friends were discussing Age of Ultron and conversation wrapped around to how studio mandates hurt the movie. A comparison was Spider-Man 3. Raimi had a story, the studio had other ideas, and things fell apart. Part of that to me has always been because Rami wanted to soldier on creating his movie and also throw in all of the mandated stuff. He chose to break instead of bend. Could the same be said of Ultron? Could Whedon have scrapped some of his ideas or was the movie always going to not have time to send Thor to a magic pool?

Personally, I find the Whedon dialogue to be the worst part on rematches. That and Hulk/Black Widow stuff. If anything the studio interference helped in that case, but that’s one of the things Feige is good for
