Joined a real gym today. A lot of cool poo poo. I had to do math because of calibrated kilo plates and when my hands got sweaty I dunked em right in the chalk bowl without fear of losing my membership. Pretty good feeling. There's a ton of crap there I want to play with but really don't need in my programming just yet tbh. Sling shots, bands, chains, weight releasers, duffalo bars, football bars(I'm thinking of using this things neutral handles for my main OHP sets),etc. I am going to go ahead and put belt squats and reverse hypers in though, I bet those will be pretty good.

e: Oh its got a big rear end loving poster of Rich Piana too which is cool, unsure if I'm enjoying it ironically or not though

Also I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to be able to notice the difference in a deadlift bar but I'm looking forward to using that thing too

but assumes you are using a 20kg/45 lb bar instead of a 25kg bar? I mean, I know all I have to do is take whatever lbs I want and add 10 to it but if that exists why make it harder.

e: I think exrx has a calculator that can do what I want. e2: I know it's a tiny tiny thing but the stupid calculator only has 1kg plates. the ones in my gym go from 2.5kg to 1.25kg.

I have bad oppinions that shouldn't be inflicted on you all, even if this is GBS we need standards.

I bought Wendlers Books on 531 and 531 Forever. And realised that I should probably recalculate my TM again as I am really grinding in the 3 and 1 weeks of the lifts. Just need to also decide which of his templates I want to use for the next 3 weeks until my Vacation.

Just for reference the isn't assuming a 25kg bar, it's assuming a 20kg bar + 2 X 2.5kg collars, because that's the law in Olympic lifting and powerlifting

Women's bars are 15kg so a women's spreadsheet might do the trick but it sounds like you're covered anyway

Also I did pretty much quit working out this week, but only because I'm recovering from a meet

Oh, hrm that's weird. The guy at the gym said they use a 25kg bar in competition and we even have a 25kg bar(I think it's a texas squat bar) there at the gym that chills in the monolift that he bought specifically to mimic that bar. Does it just depend on the federation or something like that?

^^^ probably some powerlifting federations do somewhere. The IWF uses Olympic rules (20kg bar, 2.5kg collar) that specifies the bar. IPF does too I think.

Think of learning barbell math as auxiliary work.

I had some major progress with clean n jerk this week. Did sets of 70kg x2 that felt like 30. Almost popped myself in the chin with the clean. This is midway through my first cycle of doing the full Olympic lifts from the floor so I'm pretty excited.

I squat over 400 pounds and bench over 300. Thanks for the body shaming I guess.

It was a written report in an email. Maybe they just assume anyone who is overweight is a lazy sack of poo poo who doesn't exercise. Which is pretty offensive since I'm a lazy sack of poo poo who sometimes exercises.

365 deadlift pr on Wednesday. 350 pr squat today. Both felt like I still had a little bit of juice left. Gonna keep to my program and be strong as heck slowly but surely

Still lifting. Still losing weight. Still getting weaker. I'm down 3 notches on my lifting belt but I pulled 455 the other day for just a single and felt like I was going to die. Hardly seems worth it...
