Martout posted:so uh one day I hear "brexit deal is on!" and then I heard "naw that's bullshit" basically half of the government is loudly lying about how we're gonna own and rip off Europe and dominate the continent and if they don't let us we'll invade them with our powerful might, seemingly thinking no-one in europe can read english the other "sensible" half are still pushing forward the same deal that got rejected 2 years ago and entirely goes against the most basic fundamental legislation of the EU and when the EU goes "no, we've been through this" they say, "yeah but if you don't take it then we're gonna own ourselves insanely badly and that will also be bad for you somehow,"

but ultimately the tories are way more interested in vainly trying to keep their self-destructing party together than remotely giving a single poo poo about the state of the country. Which tracks with their absurd infinite austerity program thats based completely on easily and repeatedly disprovable fantasy. its slightly surprising that they're this incompetent but its really not shocking. the british government has always been basically an amateur, well-paid hobby for the upper classes, apart from early Labour and a big part of New Labour was allowing rich cunts to join a party that wasn't obviously malevolent. meanwhile the libdems are deservedly irrelevant and labour are pissing everything up the wall going "hmm but can we really oppose the most disastrous political move in modern UK history? after all, the stupid and racist quarter of the country voted for it!" e: labours plan only makes sense if they end up overturning brexit somehow on the sly, which they won't. So in the end they're tacitly supporting brexit in the hope that they can get in gov. but they will take power of a crippled country that is way more likely to go fascist than left, since the groundwork for fascist britain has been being laid for at least 60 years

People are still operating under the idea that this is sensible too. Listening rn to an uber-gammon loudly explain why brexit is good actually and also how everyone else voted with their hearts but he thought about it very carefully. He's on a Spanish island saying this to a dutchman while sat in a Spanish restaurant and I want to give the old fart a stone cold stunner.

Do it, and I'll hop on a train down to Malaga and do the same to the pensioners living in their anglophone ghettos.

Lol I won't even take other people's garbage for money in Tropico Gonna also lol when Britain eventually tries to rejoin after it all goes to poo poo and the EU will make them get rid of the pound for good Moridin920 has issued a correction as of 17:42 on Oct 17, 2018 |

Schengen is fine, losing the rebate will suck but not that much, but the euro is one of the worst parts of being in Europe. Though it would inevitably end in us exporting them a banking crisis

there’s a lot of hand wringing about how none of these expats on the Costa del sol have any money to pay for healthcare (sans ehic card) or even repatriate themselves back well i can tell you that day 1 the Spanish gov will round them all up, liquidate their assets and send them like cattle back and they’ll be homeless

And they're going to be screwed so hard, cause those villas won't be worth poo poo.

Yeah it's gonna be interesting (terrifying) to see what happens in Spain if some kind of agreement isn't reached re expats. You need, I think, to live there for 10 years before claiming citizenship, and that involves giving up British citizenship. There are countless holiday homes, plus resorts and bars/restaurants catering to and run by Brits. Unless the Spanish and germans suddenly develop a very keen interest in curry nights, fish and chips and singers doing bad covers a lot of poo poo is going to collapse and its not just the English it'll impact.

Yeh the Spanish will be happy. Now bloated leathery tourists will have to sit in silence across from each other while downing their not inconsiderable body weight in booze at a rainy butlins instead.
