It's a tumbleweed, but with Marge Simpson. A tumbleweed is a structural part of the above-ground anatomy of a number of species of plants, a diaspore that, once it is mature and dry, detaches from its root or stem, and tumbles away in the wind. It's the most visually distinct plant life in the arid plains regions of America. A tumbleweed moment is an old Western trope, to signify that a place is desolate and empty, and is commonly referenced in comedy to symbolize dead air, such as a joke falling flat. It's the visual equivalent of cricket noises.
