Nah, he's got a fair point. DDS1 was phenomenal and if JJ works for you then it's incredible.

So DDS1 and PunisherS1 are the tops. Glad we're all in agreeance.

Anyway, I think it's 29 hours until DDS3 drops and we all descend into a turmoil of being unable to decide if we like it or not as we binge regardless :munch:

I can't believe I'mma get smashed watching Netflix and then be confused as to whether the season dragged because it's a Netflix Marvel show or because I was too drunk to pay attention to what was going on.

Either binge-watch or binge-drink, folks.

(Considering most shows have been on an upswing after JJS2 IMHO, I'm somewhat excited about DDS3.)

DD S1 and DD S2 are better. JJ S1 and Punisher S1 are probably on the same tier of great at times, but only decent overall. Luke Cage S1, Defenders, and Iron Fist S1 I felt obligated to watch because I had already devoted so much time to Netflix Marvel and the MCU.

JJ S2 is where I am stuck, and I haven't mustered the desire to finish it even though I want to watch DD S3. I'm basically in this weird spot where I think there is actually too much Netflix Marvel. I wish they were only 8-10 episodes at this point, and I'm questioning whether I will finish JJ S2 or even start Luke Cage S2 and Iron Fist S2. The idea of needing to watch another 25 episodes to get to DD S3 is... discouraging.

Honestly I'll probably just read the Wikipedia summaries and skip them, which is something I've never done.

JJ S2 is unconnected with pretty much anything else in Marvel Netflix land, and I doubt very much you'll need to have watched Luke Cage S2 or Iron Fist S2 either to jump into Daredevil S3.

No it's cool we're in a time now where there's just too much Marvel poo poo going on so trying to watch tv/movies is starting to become like the comics they tried to streamline away from; now all you gotta do is pick a character/story you like and if (and only if) there's crossovers do you gotta get on a wiki to look up what happened. It's genuinely a good thing, you don't gotta sit through poo poo you don't have any interest in anymore.

Like I haven't seen Punisher and I won't watch it, I won't watch a new Defenders, I got my shows: Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Runaways, Legion, and because I'm a trash filthman The Gifted. Anything else, eh if it crosses over fine but I don't gotta put in any time on that no more.

How far did you get? Halfway through there's an excellent timeloop episode, and those are always good value. And the finale has an actual zombie apocalypse, kinda sorta and it's drat fun times.

I was in the same boat. Started Iron Fist S2, I think I am on ep3, maybe? And JJ S2 I just forgot about and never came back to after the first two eps. I didn't dislike JJ S2 necessarily, I just didn't care enough to warrant devoting 45-50 minutes at a time. Same with Iron Fist S2. I actually thought Iron Fist improved a lot from S1 to S2, but S2 only had to be mediocre - which it is - to feel that way.

I am going to try jumping into DD S3 without finishing either of those season and see what happens. I have a feeling it'll be pretty isolated considering how much Netflix had responded to fan feedback after Defenders.

I did actually enjoy Luke Cage S2 waaaay more than I ever expected to and actually wanted to watch each episode. Punisher was also a surprise with how good it was, even if it did felt stretched thin at times.

I still laugh when I think about the fight scenes in Runaways, especially the one vs that dude Darius, where they all fought like characters in a bad turn-based tactics game. Generally enjoyed the show, but Cloak and Dagger was better in pretty much in every way.

We don’t talk about Inhumans, and I think that’s what everyone involved in that show would want

I'm so lame I switched co-parenting weekends with my ex just so I'd have this weekend to binge thru it (and finish my halloween costume) .

EDIT: Already wondering what comes next and can see a "Devil in Cell Block C" take if they bring back Frank and introduce the Owl. You don't even really need Owl but it'd be a good subplot and something you could tie in season one by making him Wesley's son out for revenge or something.

Lol, episode 3 there ain't a goddamn keypad in the world that has different sounds for each number like it's a phone, specifically so people can't overhear you typing in your code and guess it. That might be the least realistic thing in any Marvel Netflix show yet.

I'm taking a break after 3 episodes. Kingpin is great, as always. The two FBI dudes both seem interesting. Everything else has been very slow, and while there are moments of Good Stuff it's embedded in a whole lot of nothing. The fact that I've had to binge three episodes just to feel like I've had enough story to satisfy even idle curiosity is a bad sign. It really needs to pick up the pace, like, a lot, and soon.
