Eye Boy was actually a cool concept, and not only was he covered in eyes for 360-degree vision but could see things like magic and invisible spectrums.

They did a flash-forward issue where he was an Oracle-esque man-in-the-chair for the X-Men.

He's invisible to Peter's spidersense specifically, since the symbiote was bonded to him for a time so Pete's body doesn't recognize it as a threat. IIRC, Ben Reilly's spidersense could detect Venom.

Did he intentionally dull it or was by accident? Because I'm curious about the thought process that went into making a gas that targets something that nobody has an idea of what it actually is.

Spider-man can't use spider-sense against his own clones because his spider-sense detects them as him.

Early Spider-man was not concerned very much with the "how" of things. He just guessed spider-man had a spider-sense and made a gas that would suppress it.

I mean, he travels through space when he feels like it. I am sure he will be fine. What I am worried about is his suit smelling like whiskey whenever he goes on patrol. He is gonna get a DUI....FUI no matter what the results of his breathalyser.

Also whiskey smells like paint thinner.

Given that the year 2020 is coming up, I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel had Arno take up the mantel. And the Landfill method is just as good as any*.

* = The best part about the Landfill method is that a number of TV shows have used the exact method, but 100% serious in execution.

Examples off the top of my head are Smallville and Gundam 00.
